Hello all those with ancestors in Southwestern Pennsylvania. I apologize if
you receive this from more than one list. I am posting this to the lists that
have requested updates regarding this event.
Many of you have registered your surnames for the Surname Registry for
"Mother Cumberland-A Harvest of Memories: Reunion: 2003".
Just a reminder:
The reunion is for anyone with an ancestor of any surname who lived in
Southwestern Pennsylvania during the 1700's. (Anyone is welcome to attend.)

This reminds me of a question I just posted on another list about the
link between Franklin County and Linn County, Iowa.
There seemed to have been an awful lot of Franklin county families end
up in Ogle County, Il. Was there some specific factor or factors
responsible for this?
Thanks. Inquiring minds are dying to know!

Lynn,
Have a Craig/ McVitty resource for you,
. Her name is Peggy Straughn, and lives
in Dayton, OH. Also contact Joyce Strock, P.O. Box 262, Fayetteville,PA
17222-0262, unfortunately she has no e-mail. Joyce is from the McVittys.
I am a Piper cousin of theirs, but share no direct ties with the Craigs
and McVittys. I am sure there is a list at Kittochtinny Hist. Soc., in
Chambersburg, and I think Joyce has one of her own, and has done
extensive work at Ambers
