A library that has this newspaper is the PA State Library in Harrisburg which is about 1 hour away from Chambersburg by car. To check their catalog, you can use the internet at: http://pilot.sshe.edu/ On that page, select the State Library, then select Guided Search which gives you a search page with the ability to key multiple search words. On that page, key "newspapers" (no quotes) as the first search word and "Chambersburg" (again, no quotes) as the second. You'll see all the newspapers for all date

6. RE: [PAFRANKL] Fw: [1]
I think all of them on the Valley of the Spirit project ( think it is called), from the University of Virginia, where they compare Franklin County to Augusta County, VA. You should check their website. I have been able to print out the old newspapers off their site. I don't think it runs through 1869, but through the destruction of Chambersburg in 1864, at least. -----Original Message----- From: Bill /Peggy Straughen [mailto:bpstraughen@dayton-online.net] Sent: Thursday, September 27, 2001 8:09 AM To:

12. [PAFRANKL] Duliban, Dullebohn, Dulebon, etc... [1]
I'm new the list, and I joined because I have come across in my research various spellings of the surname I am reaching. The surname is spelled DULIBAN. I have hit a huge brick wall with this line only being able to track to my grandfather, Frank Andrew Duliban (1925-1985). I have been wondering if maybe the spelling had been changed at some point, and I have noticed that there are similar spellings in Franklin County (DULLEBOHN, DULEBON, DOLIBIN, and others). Here is the only info that I have.

18. [PAFRANKL] genealogy research for hire? [1]
Can anyone point me to someone in the Chambersburg area who will do onsite research for a fee? I desperately need to take a look for land records and other items that can only be seen either at the court house or the historical society and I just don't seem to be able to schedule a time when I can be away from my office that works very well with their normal hours of operation. I've sent an inquiry to Kittochtinny with a donation but think they must be seriously backed up so am anxious to find another way

25. [PAFRANKL] Krebs - Kreps - Creps .... etc. [1]
Hi: I am an experienced searcher, new to the Franklin list. I track a number of Krebs families who arrived in American in the 1700s and early 1800s, and migrated across Pennsylvania and elsewhere. There were several Krebs families in Franklin County in the 1800s, and in nearby Maryland. I have some scattered information which I would like to use to define family lines. Perhaps we can share information for our mutual benefit. Any suggestions welcomed. Any spelling of the surname
