I need to obtain a copy of a naturalization record from 1907 in PA. I've
searched various PA Vital Records links (state and county level depts.) and
can't find any mention of where to write for these records. The person was
living in Clearfield Co. (Morrisdale Township) in 1907.
Side Question: If anyone has requested this type of record from PA, does it
include the individual's parents' names?
Thanks!
Sara
Joe,
They were married in the Lemberg E & R church. I just didn't know why I had
added this german phrase to the marriage record. It sounded like something
military to me and I wondered what it could be. I wrote it on the record too
many years ago to remember any more about it.

Fellow US listers...there are many free sources of genealogical info--such
as local libraries, historical societies, and genealogical societies--some
of which have on-line query capabilities, and most of which will have
references on the population of the early US (1600's and 1700's). The point
is that we "rooters" are inclined to help each other, but it's only fair
that we all do our homework before asking for research assistance. If such
local research sources don't pan out, then ask for help. I'm not
If anyone has the book with Hill (St. Joseph) Reformed Church Baptisms for

correct dates of the baptisms and/or births.

"Militdr" would be an abbreviation for "Militdrkirche", more commonly
called in German "Garnisonkirche" (as, for example, the historically
famous "Garnisonkirche" in Potsdam). The Prussian army had a Protestant
officer corps, and so in towns with military installations/barracks, a
local church would be designated as the military church.
Sorry for being pedantic here.

Janet,
It was a custom with German's to give their children 2 names, and then they
went by the middle name. For example your George Schall was actually John
George, and if he had any brothers their first name would also be John. So I
am willing to bet that your Elizabeth given name was Catherine Elizabeth and
she went by Elizabeth.
Also many were named for their sponsors. For the birth of your Catherine
Elisabetha the sponsors were Georg Kuntz and Elisa Margretha.
I have the sponsors for the other bi

I have my great x grandma Maria Britton Conrad 's diary from 1898 of her trip to Devon, England after a 56 yr absence.
She lived in Pittsbgh and mentions many friends in Pittsbgh before leaving and many Pittsburghers that she met after departing in London, Liverpool and Paris.
Is there a Pittsbgh list that I can mention these names so i can send them copies and find out who they were (probably some were well known as she was connected to Carnegie Steel)?
Her husband Adam Conrad was born in Germany an
Not so fast, here is what I think is going on:
There is a small place in the Rheinland-Palatinate called Pirmasens (see
Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pirmasens)
You have " Pirmasens Evaneliscue und Militdr": I think this might
possibly be corrected to:
"Pirmasens Evangelische und Militdr"[-kirche]" which would mean: the
"Protestant (well, Evangelical, but Lutherans call themselves
Evangelical in Germany) and Military Church of Pirmasens"
Hope this helps.

Hi Laney,
I've wondered if that weren't the case with the two girls being the same
person. It seems likely especially since there seems to be only one birth date
for the two girls.
I would love to have the sponsors for the children.

I think Veno is Italian for wine?
Yes, "vino" is anyway. I'm going with Vine for now, having had a good look
at the written word, and have found Vine St near the centre of Philadelphia,
so it does make sense.
Thanks to all listers.

That is the correct church. I need the births/baptisms of Elizabeth Schall,
dau. of George Schall and Catharina Neuhardt and her sister or possibly the
same person, Catharina Elizabeth Schall.
