Walt, My husband's family are Conners who are found in the 1790 census for Dauphin County (in 1781 it was part of Lancaster County). David Conner m. Abigail Rhodes. David died suddenly in 1792. He had several children of which I have some information--none named Timothy. It is said that David Conner came to America about 1750, probably from Ireland, as a young boy, and that he had family already settled in Pennsylvania, probably Philadelphia or Chester County. page 129 CARPENTER, Christian, was elected Sheriff of Lancaster county in 1799. He was the father of William Carpenter, late Prothonotary of the county, who was elected in 1857. W. You who have cable tv and live in PA might have seen PCN (PA Cable Network) one-hour documentaries on historical sites and business manufactories of interest located throughout the Commonwealth. Once "in the can," PCN shows its documentaries repeatedly, at various times of the day--throughout the year. This Wednesday, a PCN camera crew is coming to prepare a documentary on the Historical Society of Berks County, which we find very exciting. More about this project will follow....
