1. [PALATINES] New Palatine Research Study [1]
Descendants of the Palatine emigrants who left Germany in 1708-09 and settled in the far reaches of the British Empire, including the Hudson Valley and beyond, may soon be able to connect with long-lost family members and learn far more about their German roots than they ever thought was possible. A Palatine DNA Project has been established that welcomes all direct descendants of these brave and hardy men and women. The goal is to determine if and how these families are related and to reunite those familie

Wondering if those looking for Bonsteel info., have visited collectionscanada.ca some of what you will find: Biography / Administrative History Jacob Bonesteel was born in 1756 in Rhinebeck, Dutchess County, New York. He was living in Cleverack, New York (in present day Columbia County) at the outbreak of the American Revolution and he joined the Loyal American Rangers on 22 September 1777. 15. SCHMALZ family in Arad,Hungary [1]
Does anyone have any info on the surname SCHMALZ from Neu Arad, Hungary (now Romania)? I am looking for family of Rosa SCHMALZ (bABT1890s) who moved to NY in early 1900s and married David Zilly. She was supposedly one of 13 children who lived in Arad and were Catholic. I know Maria Radna Church is there in Arad, but I have not contacted them yet.

17. [Fwd: Re: [Palatines] Hieronimus and Anna Maria Weller] [1]
Hi Janice If you GOOGLE on "Hieronimus Weller" you will find a whole bunch of stuff on this family. It appears that Anna Maria was a Kuntz and you will find a ton of stuff on the 1710 Palatine Kuntz family. Will lookup some web sites to go to if nobody else responds, but I'm sure they will. The Rensselaer County Genweb site has a lot of stuff for one. Must leave now or I would lookup the addresses now. Good luck Dave Rinsem PS-The grandfathers name in Germany was Engelbert Weller and the grandmothers

What you really need to do to find any data on your Schmaltz surname is subscribe to the Banat-L list. This is a search engine that has all the member in this group searching all the Towns of the Banat and the Batschka. Arad is one of the towns in this province and there are many researchers involved with this town and they are always helpful. If you do want to subscribe to it-its just like the Palatine-L group hosted by rootsweb. If you find you don't care to be on it all you have to do is write unsu

23. Al's conumdrum with LDS, another resource for folks [1]
Wow, that's - that's scary. Very odd. Well, the genealogy library where I am in CT has an online subscription, multitudes of online books and materials (like thousands) focusing on NY and New England, and an LDS center. Anyone in the world can have access to everything for $35.00 per month. Gets you online, and, it gets you lovely folks there to help you. You CAN get someone onsite to do the LDS research for you, and/or explain the conumdrum, for anyone I would recommend this subscription: http://www.

25. [Palatines] Points of information [1]
Al, true the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, UT does not do research for individuals and never has. However, the Family History Centers are available to anyone who wishes to use the facilities to do their research. The FHC are located in the LDS church buildings and some are in separate buildings in close proximity to the church. All of these locations have access to the records in the main library in SLC. Most recently the church has made available another service. We now have in most loc
