PA Sate Archives they have a project documenting the
lives of poticial figures in PA government. I wrote,
but have received a reply as whether it is true or not

Hello.
I'm new to this county list and know these lists typically do not have
high-volume interaction as the main state lists.
I am attempting to make the most of my research time when I visit PA. I'm
very familiar with the general area around the Penna Turnpike (76) as I
have family within Pittsburg.
I have found information on Lawrence county from the GenWeb site among
others. I am still confused as to what records I will find available, and
for what years. I am most interested in any birth register
Janet McFarland of Alexandria, VA offered to do a lookup for Lawrence County.
I would appreciate learning if James Copeland WICKERHAM might be in any of the
four books she listed. Wickerham was a medical doctor in Rose Point, PA in
1876. He received his medical training in Cincinnati and a diploma in 1875 and
was back in Ohio in the 1880 census and here in Kansas where he married in
1885. His presence in Lawrence County, PA would be short lived. I've not found
any court records involving him, marriage, dee
I am searching for any information on the Blair and Fury families of Lawrence
County, PA. I would appreciate any information from descendants of either
family.

Hello All,
I am asking for any help anyone can give me regarding the dead-end I have
hit regarding my WARNER roots in Genesee County, Michigan. The family I am
seeking is that of WASHINGTON WARNER and his wife Mary (unknown maiden name).
In the 1860 census, three of their children are shown: GEORGE (1847), LYDIA
1850) and EMORY BRADFORD WARNER ( my great-grandfather) (1852). All three
were born in Flushing Township (Genesee County, MI). By 1880, Emory Warner
has married CAROLINE PERKINS, whose fa

The best research facility in Lawrence Co. is the New Castle Library in
downtown New Castle. There is a very nice motel within a block of the
library.
See my Lawrence Co. GenWeb page listed below.

Thanks for the number of replies regarding on the best research start point
for County records and history.
One person pointed out I had not posted surnames, so I will do so this time
around.
I'm looking primarily for MCCLUSKY and RIPPLE right now. For MCCLUSKY I've
found both the "Y" and the "EY" ending in Lawrence and surrounding
counties. The spelling the family used as of 1850's & beyond were just the
"Y" ending. But you know what a little accent and a bad speller on a census
can do to any name! Mc

To JANET MCFARLAND in Alexandria, VA. to do look up in any of the four books
she has about Lawrence Co. PA.
I am interested in getting information on the founders of the Slippery
Rock Normal College in Elwood City. It is now a teachers college I have been
told. Supposedly my great grandfathers family was instrumental in its
founding. McClane was the surname, possibly Marquis (Marcus) , Eli, Elliott,
Samuel or William.
Thanks, Gayle Marcus

Larry - Could you look for a William Shields and Hugh Shields in your book.
Supposedly William was a policeman in New Castle around 1900. Hugh was his
brother.

It would be nice if people would reply to the list rather than individually
when it is something of general interest, like where to research in
Lawrence Co. This would be of interest to others like myself.
