Hi
There is a search on by a group of Frantz researchers for more information
on the capture of Margaret Frantz in 1757 by the Indians. She married Nicholas
Wotring two years after her return. There was mention of her story being told
to Peter Hecker and a Mrs. Everson. If there is anyone who has these folks in
their family and have any information other than that which was written in the
History of Lehigh Co. we would be interested in hearing it.
Thank you and I hope you all have a Happy and Pr
I was fortunate for an early Christmas present to locate the probable
town where David Straus lived in Germany before emigrating to
Pennsylvania in 1765 on Betsey. Between church records in Burbach, (near
Siegan in what is today Nordrhein-Westfalen) and church records in
Montgomery, Berks, Northampton and Lehigh Counties this family has begun
to be more than just a few names and dates. Here is the URL for my
Straus pages:

Hello all,
I wanted to provide you with some information concerning a book I have recently posted to eBay. This book has pastor Daniel Schumacher's register in it, and there are many many surnames. If you haven't used this in your family history search before you may want to check it out. I've psted the list of surnames below. Happy hunting! I am not a regular member of this list, and wil be un-subscribing, but since there are many Lehigh area churches, thought this may provide some information for you.

Hi Janet,
I found this information in a book entitled "The History of the
Western Salisbury Union Church" which I purchased last
fall when my husband and I visited the church. One of the
founders of the church was my husband's ancestor, Hans
Adam Blanck.
In the book there is a chapter on problems between the
settlers and the Indians. There is a paragraph which reads
in part - The Indians on reaching the farm of John Jacob Mickley,
bordering on the village of Hokendauqua in Whitehall Township

The inscription on the marker reads: Here on October 8, 1763
John Snyder and his wife Anna Margaret Wotring with their
three children and Jacob Alleman's wife and child were killed by
the Indians. Their bodies were buried 200 yards south of this
spot. John Mickley's children, Henry and Barbara killed the
same day, were buried half a mile to the east. This was the
last Indian massacre in Lehigh County.

Hi list, and Merry Christmas to you all. I am wondering if anyone has
received Alfreda Davidson's latest book about the Frankenfield family? I
sent my money in before the deadline in July and have not received a book. I
lost her email address or I would write myself. Thanks for your help. Anna
