Mike,
Do you have any other information about these two people, especially
birth dates, which would establish a time frame for identifying them.

Hello,
Would anyone be willing to check death records or obituaries to find a date
of death of this prominent citizen of Hazelton? He was the founder of the
Jacobs Candy Co., and was married to Clara T. Baur. Any help would be appreciated.

Awhile ago I had posted a message to the list about my great-uncle Paul
Hospodar. I had been unaware that he had come to the US and apparently
settled in the Scranton area until I came across a photo of the wedding sent
to my grandparents. I have made contact with a grandson of a Paul Hospodar
from the area, but it turns out its not the CORRECT Paul Hospodar. So...
I'm trying again and hoping that someone out there has some info.

Can anyone tell me if there is a website for old postcards from the area? I
have several I would like to share, but I'm not sure where to post them.
I have a number from the Nanticoke area from the 1930's and 1940's and a few
other misc. ones, such as one from Shenandoah.
Please advise. Thank you

I am researching an ancestor who died in December 22, 1897 in
Miners Mill. I have been unable to find the name of his mother
and am at a loss as to where to look since the county did not
issue death certificates. His obituary does not list his
parents names.
His name was Samuel Skidmore. He was born in England about
1820, but I have been unable to find Christening records. His
marriage records lists his father, but not his mother.
His obituary does not list where he was buried (so I cannot
check for a

John Skelton Sleep was born 1821 (England) and died

John Nelson DePue/DePew was born in Nescopeck, Luzerne

I have an old album of pictures. All were taken in either Willkes Barre or
Philadelphia. There are some Civil War Soldiers too. These pictures must be
of either relatives or friends of Mary Artemesia Jackson Ruggles. M A J was
married #1 to John Wagner and had four children by him. She married #2 Lorenzo
Ruggles and had no children by him and inherited his estate.
Anybody out there with Jacksons, Ruggles, Wares, or Wagners from PA please
contact me privately.

Phyllis - The Timms family seem to have moved to Plymouth in the 1860 census
and then probably to Pittston since an Alva Timms, aged 13, died there in 1893
and it stated he was formerly from Plymouth. I guess you are looking for the
earlier Alva.

Here is where careful attention to detail would be helpful. You need
to clarify your request. Do you mean to say that he wasn't naturalized
until 1913? And was it the 1920 census in which you found Julia and the two
children? If you found them in 1910, then he was away from his family
somewhere.
Generally speaking, the census tried to count all residents, whether
citizens or aliens. We still have problems today with those who do not have
permanent homes.
