Walton-Stroudsburg I. William Walton, ancestor of the Stroudburg branch, was born in Moreland twp. Phila., Co, now Montgomery Co, about 1735. He died about 1783 in Bucks or Montgomery Co, about 1783. Moses Smith Cemetery, aka Smith Burial ground, Smoke Hill, is located on the grounds of Camp Girard, just N. of the northwest corner of Middle Smithfield. Drive north on Rt. 209 to Marshall's Creek. At the light turn left toward Rt 402 then bear left after crossing a small bridge. This road heads almost due north and generally follows the creek. 1893-Luzerne Co Howey, James, of Plainsville, was born in Monroe Co, July 22, 1853 and is of Dutch origin. His father's family consisted of 8 children of whom James was the 2nd. He married Jan 1, 1874 to Parmelia Gregory, d/o Samuel and Louise (Huey) Gregory. Children; Minnie M., and Lizzie L. The family came to Luzerne Co in 1855. I'm preparing a DAR application, and am stumped in trying to connect Joseph Lee b 1797 who m. Margaret Bush, with his parents Ebenezer Lee b abt 1765 and Sarah Anna Smiley Lee. They were in Monroe Co. as early settlers, according to what I can find. . I can't locate documentation that positively shows their lineage.
