Fayth, I searched the Social Security Death Index at Rootsweb (
http://ssdi.rootsweb.com ), and found only two likely James Browns:
JAMES BROWN 17 Nov 1932 May 1968 15206 (Pittsburgh, Allegheny,
PA) (none specified) 208-26-1944 Pennsylvania
JAMES BROWN 05 Sep 1932 Dec 1968 (not specified) (none
specified) 223-36-3064 Virginia
Could either of these men be your birth father? Do you have a more
specific date of death? Have you searched for an obituary? If either
of these men is a match, you can search for
I tried various search methods and couldn't find your ancestors in 1910.

Hello,
Could someone look up City Directory for 1875 for Patrick Burk or Burke. Most likely would be in the vicinity of center city. Thank you very much

Hi,
Does anyone know what happened to St. Gregory's Catholic Church/School in
west Philadelphia? I cannot find information anywhere.
Additionally, my great grandmother, Mary Kelly Hultz is listed as widow in
1900 Philadelphia Census. However, nothing seems to "add up." Census states
she was widowed about 21 years, but has children 15 and younger. States
children's father, HULTZ, was born in Ireland. I did find a FRANK HULTZ being an
inmate at the Penn. State Pen, but his age does not seem

Sayres Methodist Church is listed at 61st and Catherine. The parsonage which
is attached to the church is listed as 6111 Walton St. Why is this? The
entrance to the church is directly on the corner so why isn't the parsonage at
6111 Catherine?

Regarding Mary Kelly Hultz: I was told she was married, with children, in
County Mayo, Ireland. Left there (never told if children came over, also) for
America in the year 1873. According to 1900 census, born in Feb. 1855. My
mother said Mary was born Feb. 14th. Don't have proof of that. 1900 census states
she was 45 and widow -- but married 27 years. Mother of 12, eight living.
Her children range in age one to 15. Her oldest is Francis Hultz. His father
was Francis (Frank) Hultz. Again, 1900 C

Well, my question is are you SURE the person living at the same address in

Hello all. It has been a long time since I posted to this list so I am going to try again. I am still at a standstill with my AGNELLO tree but have a bit more information to give. If anyone has any knowledge or advice about where to go next, I would appreciate it.
Looking for any info. on Michele Agnello/Agnella and his son Angelo Agnello. Both lived in Philadelphia from 1910 on Kimball street, Christian Street, and South Alder Street. They are connected to the Camodeco/Comdica family also from Phila.

I had the same problem. It is due to PA's efforts to prevent identity theft. I finally got the full certificate after I told them what I wanted it for. Good luck.

Joan,
I know that is not true now, marrying a citizen allows you to get permanent
residency but does not automatically make you a citizen and I suspect that was
true then as well. It's also possible they married another immigrant and he
could have filed with them on the application so they weren't checked, I was
just asking if other possibilities were considered.

Hello,
Could anyone on the list help me to find an orbit for April 1974 for Albert
E. Causley, or any kind of information on him. He was a great uncle who was
born in Canada. This Albert is the only one I could find that was even near the
birth age. I think it will state that he was born in April of 1916 although he
was born in April of 1917 in Blind River Ontario. Thank you anyone on the list
who can help. Vicki in Michigan
There should be a death record at the Philadelphia

Did you obtain the date of interment from Holy Cross? The lot owner name
would be available along with a list of all buried in the plot, and that
information may provide more clues.
About when did Michele and Milia marry?
Other than Ancestry, what resources have you been able to use? There may be
something that I or others have access to that you haven't yet had the
opportunity to look at.

You can access Heritage Quest at your local library if they subscribe to HQ.
Also, using your library card membership number, you can access HQ from home if
your library allows that as most do. Check with your library to see if they

Laura,
Thanks for posting this website. And thanks to Bob for his instructions
on how to contact other state Grand Lodges. Looks like I'm finally
going to be able to donate a large (actually huge) framed photo of the
officers of the lodge in Davis, WV, taken in the mid 1890s.. My
grandfather was one of the officers.

Hi--
I'm new to the list, an old hand at genealogy, but fairly new to the internet researching of ancestors. In the past I have rented films for Philadelphia County that ended up being mostly, if not all, Philadelphia City records.
My ancestors were in Falkner's Swamp from c1715 to c1745-50 and that now lies in Montgomery County but at the time they were there it was Phila. Co. Falkner's Swamp is located in New Hanover Twp., near & almost directly N. of present-day Pottstown, Montgomery Co.
I've also
