All the names on the Monument represent those that gave their lives in the War of the Rebellion. There were supposed to be more stone tablets but not all Boroughs and or Townships sent in their tablets. Any other questions I'd be happy to try and answer. I don't think it would take too long to look at the whole census for Hop Bottom even though there is no index. That way you'd have the whole family and lots of information about them besides. Hello all, I am looking for information on CARPENTER families in Hop Bottom, Susquehanna Co. PA, in 1900. One of them had a son named Donald Marshall CARPENTER, who was born there in 1894. I don't have access to an index to the 1900 census of PA, and would really appreciate any leads someone could give me on the CARPENTERs living there. Who were Donald Marshall CARPENTER's parents? Were they of English ancestry or German ancestry? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I will be glad to share. Te

If you have information that you think would be interesting to others send it to me and I will out it in my file to use in the next book. Thank you for your interest. Susan Bennett-Dyson

Ann, I did not mean to put that message on the list...I meant to e-mail you privately. Yes, I am a Keesler researcher & we've corresponded before. I may have to make a couple of phone calls to get Eileen's address & phone number. I, too, tried to find her number on-line. It could be that it's unlisted. Give me a day or two...I'll give it a try. It is quite probable that she is related to you since she lives in Susquehanna that that is where your Fernans are from. Betty
