Looking for info on Joshua Tinsley PENNINGTON born 1837, died 1890 in
Arkansas. Married to Elizabeth KUHN in 1860 and lived in White County
Tennessee before moving to AR. Any info would be appreciated.

I have the descendancy line of URIAH PENNINGTON, son of Simeon!! A
descendant contacted me about a year ago. He is an elderly gentleman. I
do not believe he would mind me sharing his information. Would you be
interested?

Hi - I am new to the mailing list. I understand that I was to receive some
info re group assignment. I have been reading the incoming mail, but don't
have a clue which group I belong to, nor where to find archived info on
previous Pennington correspondence. Can someone advise? Dot Wilson Duncan in
Tampa, FL
For your information, I connect to the Pennington group through the marriage
of PHOEBE PENNINGTON, born 26 Sep 1794 in Ashe Co, NC, to William S. Parsons,

Hi, Marie,
Sure, I'd be glad to see it. I think our Phillips were only in SC & AL,
but of course GA is on the way from one to the other . It would be
interesting if our Phillips had some connection to the Pennington clan, too.
Thanks!
Cheers,
Kathy

With the current technology, I beleive I can create a chat type room at
a web site that could be open 24 hours a day. I don't expect much
traffic, but it could be used to schedule live discussions between
groups in whatever manner you like. We could have have a scheduled
discussion for PRA groups, or people could agree to get together on
their own for a live discussion of ideas. Any thoughts, ideas or
comments??

Cassie,
I live in Columbus, Ohio, and would have access to such records if they exist.
However, according to The Source, rev. ed. 1996, there are no surviving
parts of the Ohio 1890 federal census for Fulton Co., and there were no
state censuses.
I didn't have ancestors in Ohio so although I live here, I am not familiar
with sources relating to Ohio research. If you think there is a way I can
help, let me know. I can very easily get to either the Ohio Historical
Society or the State Library Genealogica
Quite true. Theophilus Pennington had two of this sons go from Pulaski
Co. KY to TX. I've heard Fannin Co. TX. I believe they were Arad and
John. Oliver, or somebody, correct me if I err on this. One of them
went around 1850. This is from my memory only.
BTW, I am finding more and more Theophilus P.'s. Also seeing Pennington
spelled as Pendleton often. In 1880 Pulaski Co. kY Census I found
Theophilus age 77 and Penelope. Also their son Craig, age 39 with his
family in Pulaski. In 1880 Wayne Co.
I have a Robert Hayre marrying Winnie Pennington- d of William and Rebecca
Asher Pennington, g d of Levi.

Actually, reviewing Marvin Jones' book, it seems he thinks the Timothy in
Wayne Co., IL is the son of Joshua, not Timothy son of Ephraim & father of
Riggs ("my" Timothy). I guess I jumped the gun on that one. "My" Timothy
probably died in Barren Co., KY, after all.

Not that I know of, and I have a list of his children from an old letter.

Jenel, might be after Christmas that I can get it out. This is a
busy time here. And I am going to Williamsburg to visit my sister.

Joe Pennington is mentioned a couple of times in the memoirs of Capt
John B. Blair CSA as written for the McMinnville New Era in 1897. These
are quite long so I'll send them on request to anyone who would like a
copy. John Blair was from Warren Co Tennessee and was a part of the 5th
Tennessee Regiment.

Dear Linda
Jane was most interested in your letter, but doesn't know if she is aware
of Dave or James K.P. Pennington at this time. Before she was able to
look through her materials, she was whisked away for the holidays by me,
and having returned, she has a busy schedule for the moment celebrating
with Family and Friends. Please allow a few more days before Jane is
able to take a look at your request to see if she can be of any
assistance.
Thank you (for Jane, -- her husband, Ken)

Hi Paul,
My name is Shirley Alford and I live in the great state of Texas. Years ago
Bee Holmes put me in group #11 because of the Alabama connection, but I
have been unable to prove this. Years ago I was a member, but today I am
not a member.
Wishing all my Pennington cousins a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New
Year.

I think this chat room is really cool. Getting bounced once or twice is a
nuisance, but hey -- it's free... To avoid that kind of thing one really
needs your own server (and a fast, reliable one at that). Highly recommend
this to anybody who hasn't tried it yet, esp. if you like to spend lots of
time online. Addictive.
