Dear Shirley The following information is from microfilm 1068409 which is headed Yorkshire General Register 1570-1624 with information on Tadcaster from 1653-1716. I only looked at Tadcaster (which is in West Yorkshire) as this was my area of interest. Here are all the Penningtons I found. Note that so

3. [PENNINGTON-L] George Washington Pennington, Adair/Bates county Missouri [1]
I browsed through the assorted Groups and I think my line of Penningtons isn't among them -- yet. My great grandfather is George Washington PENNINGTON, born 30 Dec 1862 in Adair county Missouri , son of John PENNINGTON and Susan OSBORN -- though his obit says he was born in Bates County, Missouri. I thought that perhaps my gr'grandfather was the son of Nathaniel and Ruth of North Wilna, New York, but when my cousin Marilyn Rudder came back online recently and we compared some notes with Sherri McGlothern,

10. Re: [PENNINGTON-L] PENNINGTON/ROCHESTER - AL [1]
Hi, I just really don't have any idea. Just the marriage records in Jefferson Co AL. which were witnessed by another family member on her side. Did your PENNINGTON line ever live in AL. I have found some other of the ROCHESTER line that went to Ohio about 1910 or so. But I don't know if the PENNINGTON went there or elsewhere. No, I didn't look later on as my Penningtons moved from Yorkshire to London in 1767. However, you may wish to try what I did to find my Yorkshiremen in the first place. At the local LDS I used the library catalogue on CD to search for Tadcaster in Yorkshire to see what microfilm was available to read. It came up with

Hello Everyone, I am trying to locate the parents and / or siblings of my 5x Great Grandmother Rhoda Pennington. Her name was spelled Rhody on the marriage bond.also Thomas last name spelled Dinkins. That was the old way of spelling is name. On 9 April 1812 she and Thomas Dickens were married in Patrick County Va.\ They stayed in Grayson County until sometime in the 1820s. Then moved about finally settling in Peach Tree West Va. They owned much land there and also in the Drews Creek area of West Va. The

Hi all, Tom Pennington and I have been in contact a few times with Mr. Tim Pennington of Oregon, soon to be living in Elizabethtown, KY. He is a descendant of John Pennington and was born in Jackson County, TN. Because of that location and the name Timothy we suspect his John descends from Simeon Pennington, believed to be a son of Timothy (b. 1748-1749) and Nancy Riggs Pennington. With the help of Tim's mother we're trying to find a connection. We hope that eventually he'll join this list, but r
20. [PENNINGTON-L] John L. Pennington [1]
Can anyone enlighten me whether or not the JOHN L. PENNINGTON, son who is mentioned in 1818 will of ABEL PENNINGTON (died 1819, AL), is the same John L. Pennington who wrote will on 12-17-1833 in Montgomery County, AL? The Montgomery Co. will mentions wife Fannie and sons Franklin, Seaborn, Sidney and Bennet, and daughters Moarning, Polly, Caroline and Emily and someone named Nancy Griffin. These names similar to those in Abel's will. Jim Mann Panama City, FL ----- Original Message ----- From: Shirley Eri

Shirley, many thanks. This establishes my link to Group 11. John L. Pennington's will was witnessed in 1833 by my gggrandfather, John Coates Adamson (1794-1871), who was husband to NANCY R. PENNINGTON. I have much on his lineage and their life and descendents from their marriage 2-6-1819 Montgomery Co., AL, but I have not found her parents. She was b. 1804 GA (per 1850 census), and I now suspect her to be a niece of John L. Pennington and likely the daughter of either Thomas, William, Isaac, Abel or Seaborn
25. Re: [PENNINGTON-L] Davidson County NC [1]
Rod, I have a Samuel Pennington (born c. 1776 -- possibly in North Carolina) married to "Mary" and an Isaac (born about 1778). Both were sons of Abel (d. 1819 in Al). The group 11 Penningtons migrated to North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama so you very well could be part of this group. The middle initial "L" was very widely used in this set of Penningtons. I don't find a direct connection but it is worth exploring. Shirley ----- Original Message ----- From: To:
