Fiona,
Do you know if there is a written history available in book form on the
Pennington family from Muncaster Castle, Ravensglass, Cumbria? Could you find
out if it is still in print and a source where it might be ordered? I'm sure
that many of us would like to secure such a book if possible.
Welcome to the list!
Thanks for your efforts,

I would like to know from someone who knows enought about the PENNINGTON
families just exactly how many PENNINGTON lines are known to have come from
the state of Virginia.
I have another PENNINGTON line besides the one in Sebastian Co, Ark. that
has been well documented about 60 years ago and the books are still
available and they do come from Virginia.
IF someone would please send this message to whom ever has this information
I probably can help someone a great deal on a Virginia line.

I am trying to locate any information on Mary Pennington born circa 1783.
She married George Hedrick 23 Oct 1804 in Lincoln Co KY. They leave KY in
the 1820-1830 time period and settle in St Charles Co MO. I am also trying
to connect Mary to Ephriam Pennington who sold slave to Joseph Hedrick
(George's brother) in 1823 in Garrard Co KY. This would have been just
prior to Joseph leaving KY and moving to Howard Co MO.
I noticed in Bobby Penningtons listing of the 1830 KY census that Ephriam is
still in Li
I have a business card which puzzles me -
it reads as follows:
Robert E. Pennington
Chief Fire Department
L.O.O.M. 528 Hopewell
U.S.W.V. Camp 4 Virginia
I'd welcome any clues as to what this means?
Thanks! Joyce

Linda, I am searching info on a Silas Pennington, who had family in
Sellersburg, IN.
His first son William E. Pennington b. 1838 d. 1931, Sellersburg, IN.
Wm married _______Hooker and they had five children. I have info on
this family thru 4th gen. Pickney Andrew Pennington born 1887 in
Sellersburg, IN died Feb. 3, 1971 in Jeffersonville, IN. He
married Marie Alice Lynch, daug. of George and Marie Beer Lynch.
I gave all this, which I have more, that it may give you something to
connect to.
Dear Steve and list members,
I kind of like the reply going by default to the sender instead of the
list because I have all my 17 lists in my address book but not many
individuals. However, when I see that I have some Pennington messages, I
sit up and smile because it's my favorite list. So I can go with either
way until/unless volume increases dramatically.
Thanks for listening.

SOUTHSIDE HOUSE - Wimbledon Common, London SW19
"This is a pleasant, sturdy house with a long Classical facade crowned by two

Thank you CAROLYN, WANDA, STEVE and JENELL...
For your very helpful suggestions regarding Silas Pennington's elusiveness on
KY census records. I'm too trusting in so-called official documents,
sometimes forgetting to take into account the posibility of human error. I
did check out variances of the spelling of Pennington, but didn't think to
treat Silas's name as a possible middle name. The 1860 census didn't include
him, so I suspect he and Nancy died within the previous decade, they were
already 48 and

Hi Susan, If I had the resources and the time, I would go with you in a

Dear CAROLYN AND LUCILLE,
Thank you both for your help and advice in unraveling the Silas mystery and on
census records in general. I'm anxious to get back to the library to check
out the Pendleton possibility.
Many regards,
