Marsha, Would be interested in your source for death date of Meshack Perdue....his tombstone reads "In Memory of Meshack Perdue died 1836 age 86"...was told this marker was put up some years after Meshack's death by a descendent (Kate Perdue). Meshack's will was written 27 Dec 1837 and came up for probate the first time 5th of Feb 1838....probate was continued and finalized 5 March 1838. 2. death of Meshack Perdue [1]
Hello All: This question may have been asked before. Please forgive me if it has, but I'm new to the list. I have Meshack's death date as 30 Dec 1836, which I've seen several times, but his will is dated as 27 Dec 1837. Can anyone set me straight on this? Thank you. Larry B Moncrief

Thank you Janet, and everyone who responded. I would believe the will, but I had wondered where the 1836 date came from. Just one of many curiosities I have with Meshack. I also have Zachariah's death as 24 Oct 1808, but that can't possibly be right, because he's one of the children who is disowned in Meshack's will.
