Seeking any information on a Charlotte (Lottie) Piatt. She lived in Chicago in the mid 1900s, and spent her final years in an Episcopalian Home for the Elderly. She is connected to my family (Stout, Rackham) somehow.

That would make your husband and I second cousins, once removed. It is terrific to find someone this close who is also researching the family. I do not remember a Nora personally, but have heard relatives speak of her. I did personally know my great uncles: George, Bill, and Hamer. Hamer was a stepson
For Anita,
Sometimes I think we might as well play "Pin the Piatts on the Map." This
blindfolded game might work as well as anything else. And the repetition of
names throughout the various lines helps nothing but confusion.
I don't think that ELIZABETH HANNAH PIATT ARMFIELD had any connection to the
Piatts of Monroe Co OH other than to be quite a distant cousin that they
didn't know. I looked in my e-files and found a posting from way back in 2002
that I'd like to include at the end here.

Hi again list...You know after reading the last newsletter listed below from
Laverne, I feel my missing unplaceable Elizabeth HANNAH Piatt, whose parents
are susposed to be Moses and Jane? She born in Ohio and parents from WV.?as
per family memories given to me from a found cousin in WI., may have
belonged to this first family of children.? Hannah as the name she went
by, was born 1828.,in Hamilton co. Ohio.
JUST maybe some day a newby in genealogy will come aboard and have the
missing key!
Does anyone on

Hi Rudy,
Do you have any idea of the date when they hold the reunion in Charleston, SC?
If not, could you get a date and post it to the list? Thanks.

My grandfather, Scott Franklin Durham, was the son of James Hawker Durham
and Ellen Gertrude West, daughter of Levi and Emeline. Do you have anything
at all on Levi. I have some info on Emaline (not proven yet). I've been
more or less stumped on this line for a long time. So good to see all the
conversations going on and just had a feeling I should jump in here and am
so glad I did. Phyllis

Hi Richard! Sorry for the delayed response.
I forwarded your query to my Mom; she's getting in touch with Dad's
sisters, the three that live in Charleston. As I understand it, they are
planning another reunion. The one I was referring to took place in
Georgetown, S.C., last summer. There are a great many Pyatts in that area,
and that's where my branch of the family originates; my Granddad was born
there at any rate. I'll have to check with Dad and my Aunts to get the
details. As I

Sharolynn,
You are so right with your data on Rene Piatt and the early records. I am
sure all of this is referring to one person, but with one additional
reference I wish to make.
There are records showing that Rene had a son Rene. In all my research, I
cannot find another Rene, but in some instances a son Thomas is noted as
Rene. I think this is where some researchers get confused, as well as myself.
Research on this matter must go on, and even though I did most of this back
in the very early 1960s
Can anyone on the list verify for me the children of Thomas H. Piatt (1841-1916) and Millie Ann Boldman (1847-1916)? Previously I had 7 children on my file (Lavina, Frank, Henry Clinton, Margaret, William, Lewis and August).
Yesterday it was brought to my attention that the following records existed....
John H. Piatt and Mary F. Shaw; 3, November 1889.
Consent given by Thomas H. Piatt, f/o John H. Piatt and
William Shaw, f/o Mary F. Shaw.
Alice Belle Piatt and Thomas A. Swords*; 14, February 1892.

I am still making an effort to try and locate my aunt. She was taken away
from Flint, Michigan in 1922 by her father Fred Piatt. He also took my
grandmother's younger sister Zelma. I do not know a lot about Fred except
that he was born in Pa in 1881, the son of Cyrus and Oneita Piatt. He had
two siblings Laura and James. His mother died and his father remarried.
His father and step-mother lived in Midland, Mi. and are both buried

For Carolyn in the deep south:
(Sorry it's taken me this long to work backwards in my e-mail to your posting
to the PIATT-L list last November 2. Here's the lineage up to WILLIAM PIATT
and ELLA [PRECIOUS] (MARY?) KEENE, then we run into a snag:
.Rene Piatt and Elizabeth Sheffield (NJ)
..Jacob Piatt and Mary Hull (NJ, PA)
...Jacob Piatt and Jean Paul (PA)
....Jacob Piatt and Elizabeth Dunham (Washington Co PA)
.....James Piatt Sr and Nancy Coleman (Monroe Co OH)
......James Piatt Jr and Catherine Moffett
Concerning BENJAMIN PIATT JR I have his death date as 22 March 1899 and that
of his wife, ELMIRA LAVINIA "MYRA" BAYLESS, as 23 Jan 1902. Both are buried
in the Nixon Christian Union Church Cemetery on Ellison's Ridge in Adams Co
OH.
