1. [PIATT] Re: Spouses of William Piatt (1743-1791) [1]
JEMIMA QUICK was the first wife of Capt. WILLIAM PIATT (1743-1791). They were married in Somerset Co NJ on 27 Jun 1774, with the marriage license dated 24 Jun 1774. JEMIMA was the daughter of Col ABRAHAM QUICK, of Ten Mile Run NJ, and MACHTEL VEGHTE. JEMIMA and JACOMYNTJE were one in the same person. Old Dutch records were often written in what sounds like a dialect when read aloud. The only son of JEMIMA and WILLIAM was a JOHN who was baptised 12 April 1778 at the Six Mile Run Church in Somerset Co NJ. (W

7. [PIATT] William and Hannah Tindall Piatt [0.98883]
To all interested parties of this line, this is the data that I presented at the PIATT CONFERENCE June 24-30, 2001. We all know the data on William and Hannah (Tindall) Piatt excepting possibly that some do not know that Hannah was the daughter of Joseph and Phebe (Hendrickson) Tindall. Hannah Tindall had a sister Anne Tindall married to Richard Bray. Joseph Tindall died early 1831 and I feel that William and Hannah Piatt probably moved shortly thereafter from NJ to PA. The Tindalls were staunch M

Plans are going forward for having the 2002 Piatt Researchers Conference in Fort Wayne. More later, Ken, Jo, & Beth Lauer
16. Re: [PIATT] Land Patents [0.98883]
For those of you who may not have used this site before, once you find your ancestor, be sure to do a search on the legal description (twp, range, section, etc.) to see who the neighbors were. I have found family that I didn't even know lived in a certain county where I was looking for someone else. In a few cases, they came to the state together and purchased land and then moved on before the big census years. This is certainly one of my 'standard' sites!
