I have a copy of a land patent for Lewis Short and William Piatt of Tipton Co., IN dated April 1, 1856. Lewis Short is in my line. I'm wondering if this William Piatt connects to the Short line in any way.

As you state, parents of ELIZABETH PIATT were ABRAHAM PIATT and ANNABELLE ANDREW. Abraham Piatt was born in NJ c1741 and died in Penn's Valley, Watsontown, Northumberland Co PA (now Centre Co PA) om 13 NOV 1791.
Annabelle Andrew Piatt was born c 1748 in NJ and died 16 Apr 1822 in Butler Co OH and is buried there.

Grandmother Mary Lavina Smith had a brother who died in youth. He had the
middle name of Amfield. I have never figured out the significance but
perhaps it was misspelled and should have been Armfield. My Grandmother's
maiden name was Longden and her maternal Grandparents were Lowe's. Other

We had about 20 at the last Piatt conference when we met
in Fort Wayne a few weeks ago. There is no limit to the
