1. Re: [PIATT] My Piatt line [1]
My leaning would be toward William Piatt (http://www.angelfire.com/ar/pyeatt/WmVA.html). If you'll note, three of his known children born 1813-1824 in Ohio ended up Missouri with stop-overs in Illinois or Indiana. I would start looking for records on William, especially a will or probate. 2. Re: [PIATT] My PYEATT Line [1]
I would certainly appreciate it. The Arizona Pyeatts you speak of are descendants of James Benton Pyeatt and Andrew McClure Pyeatt - brothers to my William Dudley Pyeatt and sons of Jacob and Olivia McClure Pyeatt. I have more information on these families than any other (with the possible exception of the 'Cane Hill' Pyeatts!) Actually, I'm not sure from day to day whose information that I have! I wish more people would claim the records from my source record pages (ie http://www.angelfire.com/ar/pyeatt/1

6. Re: [PIATT] Jacob of Pennsylvania [1]
While we are on this subject, does anyone have any further information for these children of Jacob and Mary that I don't have? I DO have some further information on Dinah, Jacob and John. However, the rest are a mystery. Can anyone shed more light? I don't want to have to wait for the conference to find out! Devona, Daniel PIATT was my 2C7R. I have information on him and none on Catherine SHERRARD. Also, this was the first I heard of a child for them, so anything you are willing to share there would be appreciated. What would like to know about Daniel? I'll help where I can. 9. Re: [PIATT] Still need help [1]
We have tried for years to find a connection to the 'Cane Hill Pyeatts' as we call them, due to proximity and other connections. However, I have a manuscript which supposedly shows the descendants of John and Martha with no John listed. In fact, no one has provided me with a John from these lines that is known to have existed. Any idea if someone has John's will or estate file from 16 Aug 1780 (or bef May 1778 Guilford Co, NC) which are the dates that I have for John's death (one says killed in action in Ca

Good morning, Thanks for your message. I look forward to hearing from you. I have just about gotten all the material [which I have had for years] of the 17th and 18th century lines on the computer. As I get new material I will add to this and one day we will have it all together in a format that makes it easy to determine relationships. Elise

Thanks for the info. A lady in Boone Co. has volunteered to get it on the computer. She is the one who has the photographs of Dr. Lewis Piatt's house built in 1879 and remodeled by her brother and sister-in-law in recent years. I do not get a match on a county for Elizabethtown, NJ (where Thomas is said to have moved) - could that be the Elizabethtown, OH, mentioned in the more recent post for Daniel Piatt? A quick check of the Piatt Family Newsletter did not turn up any further information on Peter, Rachel, Thomas, Mary, William or Samuel, the other children of Jacob Piatt and Mary Hull. So certainly there is room for further research here. As to the reference for "moved to Elizabethtown," Marianne is correct in saying that there is no "Elizabethtown" in New Jersey. However, there is an Elizabeth in Union County, a county which borders Middlesex Co where Thomas is said to have been born. And in some state

I am new to the list, and according to a return message I received, my last message did not go through. I will try again. My name is Nancy Bray, and I am trying to help my sister-in-law with her research. She is not online at this time. Carol is not a decendant to the Piatt family, but she owns and lives in the house that was owned by a Dr. Lewis Piatt. This house is in Boone County, Ky. Manuscripts are like census records and death certificates, etc.: The validity of the information depends entirely on the accuracy of what the person knew who gave the information. There is an excellent example of erroneous legal records in my own family. My great-grandmother gave the information for my great-grandfather's death cerificate in 1915. The death cetrificate which is on file in the State of Kentucky states his father was named David. There w
