Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Z.2ACBAEB/295.1 Message Board Post: The Piatt Family Newsletter does not have much on Piatts who lived in Poplar Bluff, Butler Co MO. Volume 9 lists three census readings: 1920 Butler Co MO PIATT Jacob, b 1875, IN Allie, b 1822, KY Elijah, b 1904, MO Roy, b 1906, MO Lorene V, b 1915, MO Twenty years earlier Jacob Piatt was a farm laborer boarding with
5. Re: [PIATT] Maine Piatts [0.987461]
For Robin, On the original census image for Kennebec Co ME, New Vinyard District (available on Heritage Quest for a fee) the names look like: George Piatt Ebenezer Piott David Piatt Noah Piatt Paul Piott Benjamin A Piatt However, they are indexed as Pratts and a study of the census taker's handwriting reveals he made skimpy "r"s. In his writing of Bryant and Morton, the r looks like i. The only time he made a real r was at the end of word. So without evidence to the contrary from primary records in Ke

7. Re: [PIATT] Abraham Piatt, PA [0.987461]
For Robin, The deed should refer to Abraham Piatt, s/o John Piatt and Frances Van Vliet Wyckoff, who married Annabelle Andrew. Abraham died 13 Nov 1791, Penn's Valley, Watsontown, Haines twp, Northumberland Co PA according to Piatt Family Newsletter, Vol 7, 1992. Dick, is the Watsontown location the correct place of death? -- Laverne Ingram Piatt Ontario, OH lapiatt@att.net
8. Re: [PIATT] Abraham Piatt, PA [0.987461]
Laverne, Watsontown is questionable as to the burial place of Abraham as it is quite a distance from where his farm was located. However, it is a location near to where his brother John lived and it is possible he died there. Abraham may even had had legal business there. Dick Piatt, PA

13. Missouri Jacob [0.974921]
A couple of notes on Jacob/Allie Piatt First, Allie is listed as 39 on the 1920 Poplar Bluff Census which means she would have been born 1882 rather than 1822. Can you imagine being that old and still having children? (she would have been 93 when Lorene was born) Also this census gives Jacobs parents place of birth as Indiana (for both parents). Im not quite ready to prune him from Rene's tree just yet.... Robin "You can only find truth with logic if you have already found truth without it." - Gilb

17. Poplar Bluffs Mo 1930 [0.974921]
Ok here's a question... 1930 Census for Ash Hill (part of the 1920 Census of Poplar Bluffs where we found Jacob and wife Allie) lists Roy Piatt born 1905 Missouri with parents born (Fa) Kentucky (Mo) Missouri. Since this is the exact same township and age of Roy son of Jacob/Allie in 1920 Census, probably the same person, correct? This Roy is listed as a grandson, living with HoH Martha E Piatt age 60 (Widow b. est 1870 Missouri) and her son George age 32 (B Missouri) Martha's parents are born Illinois
