I am searching for the family of Nancy Jane Piatt who married Capt. Calvin Clark Watkins. Nancy was b. in Ohio 19 Dec 1835 - it appears on the census Seaking Co. but I cannot find a county by that name. She died 10 Mar 1891 at Rome City, Indiana and her grave is at Orange Cemetery. The records of Piatt family do not show the lineage of Caroline, wife of William PIATT. She was a widow at the time of her marriage. She was the daughter of Captain Andrew HALL SMITH and Sarah SHERRY. If anyone is interested I will send scanned copies of
I have sent images of the six children of John P Piatt and Elizabeth Shriver
Piatt of Monroe Co OH plus an unidentified picture found with these six to the
webmaster of the website of Monroe Co Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society.
He has graciously added these pictures to the website.
If you would like to see some Monroe Co OH Piatts they are in the list at:

Christine, how close am I in guessing that the picture of the farm family was
taken c1880?

No, this Jacob married Hannah Cook McCullough, I believe (don't have my info at
school), and was the father of (among other children) Benjamin Piatt who married
Elizabeth Barnett and, in turn, grandfather of Abram and Donn Piatt who built the
Piatt Castles in Logan co OH.
Too many Jacobs, don't you think?

To all those interested in these persons of the above 1945 census in FL.
I am sure they descend from Riveroak John Piatt, son of Abram Saunders and
Hannah Anna (Piatt) Piatt from the Jacob Piatt line of Boone Co., KY.
They lived in Vero Beach, Fl. Arthur Piatt may be still living but I am sure
his wife Essie Mae passed away.

Martha,
Nancy Jane Piatt was born in 1835, the first child of Warren Piatt (born
1813 in Ohio) and Elizabeth Lee (born 1816 in Ohio or Virginia). The
family was recorded in the 1840 census for Knox County, Ohio (which is
adjacent to Licking County, and not too far from Hocking County). One of
those counties may have been appeared as "Seaking Co." in your record. The
family was later recorded in the 1850 census for Union County, Ohio, and in
the 1860 census for Noble County, Indiana. Warren Piatt
Caroline Jane was the widow of Capt. Kempton when she married Dr. William F.
Piatt in 1829. Caroline died in 1841. Her daughter Elizabeth C. K. Piatt,
born 1830 was married to Joseph H. Burgess.
