I'm looking for the parents/siblings of Catherine Piatt (b. abt. 1815 in VA/WV) who married Jacob Barker (b. abt. 1815 in VA), who were the parents of Samuel K. (b. abt. 1838), Elizabeth (b. abt. 1844), James K. (b. abt. 1848)and George (b. abt. 1848) and found in Adams Co., OH in 1850-187
Just came across a reference that adds another interesting twist to our
discussion of PYEATT, PYATT, and PYOTT names in the Carolinas. It can
be found in volume 2 of the title, Directory of Scots in the Carolinas,
1680-1830, by David Dobson. (Baltimore, MD: Clearfield Publishing, 2004;
v. 1 published in 1986).
On page 132, the following entry appears:
"PYOTT, Thomas, born in Angus, settled in New Berne, NC, as a flour
merchant and baker, a Loyalist in 1776, moved to London in 1777.

Hi Sharolynn, Enjoyed a nice visit the other day with Mari...She is not that
far, so hoping we can connect once in a while...Our Thanksgiving was
great...a big gang. The weather man was kind, so we were able to eat in the patio.
Fondly, Nancy Piatt Tosch
