David,
I'm sure there are people on this list who have more complete information
than I do; however, I come from the line of James Piatt and Catherine
Findley. I have James' parents as John Piatt (26JUN1735) m. to Jane Blair.
Do not have any siblings for James, but do have lineage on down from
there. Also, do not have those children (Peter, William and Samuel) under
Jacob married to Mary Hull. If you look up Jacob Piatt at Ancestry.com,
this information agrees with what I've got. There are lots o

would like to finish the research on this line. Thanks, Roy Appleton.

Congratulations to Anita and her relatives for obtaining and posting the
information about ELIZABETH HANNAH PIATT ARMFIELD which gave Hannah's parents

This would make a second PIATT/SMITH connection in Virginia, the other being
the marriage of WILLIAM PEATT [sic] and MARY SMITH on 17 Nov 1814 in Augusta

OK, you Pyeatte people out there, David has brought to light some wonderful
inconsistancies between his database and mine and I would like to know
if/who has documentation to substantiate their information (because mine
was passed down from my uncle with very little if no documentation).
David has John Pyeatt (26JUN1735 - 1780), married to Martha Jane Blair (c.
1735 Ireland) as the first son of Jacob and Jane Young Pyeatt.

David - I may have given you a wrong steer. I had John listed as a son of
Rene, and I note that there are others who have him listed as a son of Jacob,
Rene's oldest son. I am not sure which is correct, and I hope someone will
clarify this. I don't want to pass along erroneous information.

I suspect the Joseph Piatt in MI territory is the Quebecois, Joseph Piette,
born 1787 in
Quebec and married 1821 in Detroit, who was a descendant of Jean Piet dit
Trempe,
bc1650. This Joseph's son Joseph, born in 1821, married Monica Drouillard.
They don't appear to be related to Joseph P. Piatt of St. Joseph Co., IN.
However, some of the other unidentified Piatts of the northerly states may
be related
to the Canadian Piette / Pyette families. There is an extensive web site

For those of you who have found an Artimisha Ellen

to her I must sadly report that on May 5, 1934 she was
found hanging from a window sash cord in to Eagle

researching her as this created a legend in Ripley
which now is remembered at the Ripley Museum where I
am curator. Artimisha was the daughter of Jacob Piatt
and Christina Burnsides Piatt and born in Adams
