For the Piatt List and the Jackson County WV list...
My cousin recently sent me a few excerpts from The Memories of Harold
David Somerville, Compiled by Pauline Somerville Smith and Lola Mae
Smith. The parts of Volume 2 (of three volumes) that pertain to the
Pyatt family are online at www.piattresearchers.net (look under
documents). There are only parts of about 6 pages posted, not the whole
volume. It's just a sampling!
This is a fascinating book. I HIGHLY recommend it's purchase to anyone

Need to find information on THOMAS PYATT AND LUCINDA SCHNEIDER. They are
the parents of my ggfather Richard Milton Pyatt. I have heard this family
of Pyatt's moved from Ohio into WV and around Martinsville, WV???. Also
need info on my ggmother Mary Snyder Pyatt. Richard and Mary lived in
Parkersburg, WV - Wood County for many years. Richard and Mary are
buried in Rockland Cemetery in Belpre, OHIO but the CityTrustees say
there is not a date beside her record of burial and no headstone for
either of them
To all of you that are subscribers to ANCESTRY, you can look there for more
data on DNA. Also, they will be offering a kit soon to do the test in your
own home.
Now, we will have to wait to see what approximate cost would be involved.

Odd things happen--
My dad (Robert Pyatt of Ravenswood, WV) Received a phone call from
cousin Della (Daughter of Lawrence Pyatt of Cutler OH) about a suitcase
in Cambridge. Here is the story...
Greyhound has an unclaimed suitcase. The suitcase has the name "Robert
Pyatt" on it and is ticketed from Goldsboro, NC to Cambridge, OH. So
the Greyhound people look up "Pyatt" and find my Uncle Lawrence (my
great uncle, son of Carl Edward I think) and call him to see if he knows
a Robert Pyatt. He contacts his

have one possible glich though, that being that they are opening up a

bathroom.
Cost is $100-$110 per room (depending on w

FYI for those of you who use this amazing facility. And if you don't
use it, try to get there when they reopen. Next to Salt Lake City, this
is probably the best place in the US to research--even holds
international items.

Over last weekend I attended a meeting of the Monroe Co Chapter of the Ohio
Genealogical Society where Harley Dakin spoke of his involvement in the Cline
Family DNA study. I found his account fascinating and have been thinking about
it this week in terms of whether a similar study might be able to assist the
Piatt/Pyatt/Pyeatt family.
Apparently there are many, many Clines in Monroe Co and across the river in WV.
Mr Dakin was interested in his ancestor Alexander Cline who was found living with

Hello all!
I received in the mail today the death certificate of Mike Andrew Pyeatt born July 25, 1862 (year varies per different records) in Illinois. I was expecting to see the parents names as William and Diana Hornsby Pyeatt - but - lo and behold, the father's name is given as David Pyeatt born unknown (the mother's name and place of birth were not known). The informant was Mike's son, James V Pyeatt.
I have accummulated information on this Michael/Mikel and family at http://www.angelfire.com/ar/

Gladding Residence Center (the dorm Im trying to get for us) is set up
like this:
four rooms in a suite, plus two bathrooms
Two people in a room. Two rooms share each bath.
The first floor has three suites (24 people) and that would be SO
wonderful for us! They are carpeted and air conditioned and have
phones.
Sorry if anyone was lead astray by the 8 people in two bathrooms!
*grin* I get ahead of myself sometimes...

Ok boys and girls, the 'new' website is up and running correctly to my
satisfaction. It is by NO MEANS done. It probably will NEVER be
'done'. However there is now enough usable (and searchable) information
in a format I can live with to submit it to the public. I have listed
it with Cyndi's List and will submit to other search engines as time
permits.
The big project--the "all piatt" database is up and running. There are

The following links for the 1850 Greene co census were uploaded to Rootsweb.com a
few days ago. I believe the first link gives an overview of what's available and
what's still in progress. The next several links are an index. The next set are
the census pages as they would appear in the census takers book. The last
several links concern the 1880 census. I have not looked at them.
While there may or may not be Piatt in these particular links, some of the
collateral names are found. Jesse Ullom wa
Hi everyone--

cheaper to plan to share a room and divide the cost. This is the sa
If we approached it from a multi-generational medical-related standpoint we would probably come closer to finding a grant source. I've not written any grants myself. I did contact several groups of Alzeihmer's (sp?) researcher groups to volunteer my mother-in-laws family as a case study. Her mother was a Shrable and one of 12 children almost all of whom suffered from Alzeihmer's. Someone told me it came from the Ware side of the family. So, I know that it was not just that one generation which was effec

This is one of the items that will eventually be included on the piatt site
