Is someone looking for Arthur Satterlee Piatt? I have his California death
certificate and would be pleased to mail it to a descendant.
He died October 28, 1947 in his hometown of Roseville, Placer, CA of an
automobile accident at the age of 80. He was married to Bertha Piatt. His
father is William Piatt and mother is Nancy Neal - both were born in
Covington, KY.
Nathan Piatt was the brother of my great grandfather. I have the Carter line
and some of the Piatt line. Am still looking for the mother of Benjamin F.
Piatt. Nathan's parents were Benjamin F. Piatt and Ann Carter. Not sure
what other info you are seeking. dee29451@AOL.
Hello,
I have a NATHAN A. PYATT born 11/20/1875 in Arbuckle, Mason Co., WVA.
Possibly this is the same person. He was in the 1860 Marion Co., O. census.
If this is the correct one, he was the son of John S. and Mary C. (Snyder)
Pyatt.
These parents died in Cuba, near Trace Fork, Jackson Co., W.Va.

I have a Nathan Pyeatt, b.1787 - 1812,
(KIA) + Martha Ewing. Nathan was born
of the first marriage of Maj. Jacob Pyeatt
+ Rachael Tatum.
The second, and more well-known marriage, was to Margaret
Finley (1760 - 1822). Maj. Jacob led the
wagon train, and subsequent water journey, to Ark., in about 1810. I
have
no idea who the Tatums were. Also,
don't know of any offspring from Natham
+ Martha Ewing.
The Tatum marriage must have taken
place in PA, possibly NC.
Anybody have any data or though
Hi Kelly,
The sources would be the 1870 and 1880 census for Mason Co., W.Va. and the
death records at the courthouse.
John S. Piatt was born 6/16/1840 died 2/13/1896.
His wife, Mary Margaret Catherine or Margaret Catherine was born 5/1/1845 and
died 10/11/1929. Both are buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Trace Fork, Jackson
Co., W.Va..

This one took me by surprise, too.
The data I posted is all I have - no
children are given for the marriage (Nathan Pyeatt + Martha Ewing).
I don't know how much creedance
to give this one. To top it all off, I
didn't copy down the source, just
the data, so I can't go back, or direct
you to it for confirmation. Very bad
form on my part. . .
I'm not sure if this one is worth losing
too much sleep over. I thought we had pretty well worked out the line
from
Rene to us, and this thing caught my
Hi Liz,
The record of their marriage appeared in "Everybodys Ancestry" by N. Louise
Lodge.
She only wrote this magazine for a short while and she also wrote "The Tribe
of Jacob Piatt" from the Boone County, KY clan.

Concerning NATHAN ALEXANDER PIATT I have checked the Piatt Family Newsletter
but have not located a man by that exact name. Sandyville WV is in Jackson Co
WV, however, and several Piatt families from Monroe Co OH moved to Jackson Co
after the Civil War. Both the names Nathaniel and Alexander show up in these
families at an earlier date, too early to be Nathan Alexander.
However, if someone could check the 1880 census for Jackson Co WV and find
Nathan with his parents, I'm sure the link would be quickly ma
My material on Nathan S. Piatt is not very complete. William Carter Piatt,
his brother, is my ancestor. Two of WC Piatts granddaughters are still
living. Their grandmother lived in their home till she died.

I don't think I have ever heard of this first marriage - or, at least, it
escapes me at this time. Could you send me some more info on this first
marriage, children, etc? Thanks, Marianne

Let's give a hurrah for trips - fun ones and other kinds!
Now, how do you know that Bertha F. and Walter McLean were married in Canada?
I just got their death certificates and was surprised to find that Walter
was Canadian Also her death certificate says that she was born in Des
Moines, IA and not in Indiana where her two older brothers were born. They
lived most of their lives in or near Santa Rosa, CA - just a few miles from
the Piatt family home in Healdsburg.
So, we still don't know much abo
If you could give me the exact information from the death certificate, I
would like to add it to my database at
http://www.angelfire.com/ar/pyeatt/death.html
Funny how our 'own' stuff is the last to get done - I bet I have 8 Pyeatt
death certificates at my house which aren't on the site yet.
Thanks, Marianne

Hi Liz,
Really busy busy. Been going away a few days at a time, some for research
and some for fun. Sorry to be so late with a reply.
Yes, it does one good to constantly review. I do it often. The 1830 census
does not give names but I assume Joseph Paxton was one of those that would
have had to be born in Pottsville, not Pottstown. Yes, I have seen that
before, David being the second child of ten children. However, I am not sure
of that, because if he was related to the other ones in the area the
