My interest in the Piatt family came from a legend in Ripley, OH which started in May of 1934 when Jacob's daughter Artimisha was found hanging from a rope in nearby Eagle Creek. She, however, was not buried as Artimisha, but Nellie Kunzman, one of the many names she was known by.She, to say the least, had

The Jacob Piatt I referenced of Adams Co., OH married Christina Burnside. There seemed to be several lines of Piatts who ended up in and around Adams Co., but it doesn't sound like there's a connection to your Jacob Piatt.

I just thought I'd share with the group how I answered a question from
another family researcher about my more recent activities and
discoveries. The initial question was whether I had been able to establish
a link between Rene Piat/LeFleur and the individuals mentioned in the books
on the French Huguenots. The following was part of my response:

I lit my candles and I stood in the evening light thinking of those lost,
those found and those still searching. I thought about the righteous anger
we all are feeling and I ask this of all of you, Do Not let loose your anger

Middle East in those towers. The terrorists attacked them b

Since Rene appears with both surnames, I had decided to research both. The
Piat listed was a barber who apparently was
