Hi everyone. This is a copy of an email I received as a subscriber the
ENG-GEN-RESOURCES mailing list.
As many are aware, I have recently had a similar problem TWICE even though I
ran an up to date virus program with 50,000 known virus files. What I didn't
have was a back orifice shield which is what the Trojan is. I spent six
weeks being messed around with this thing as it systematically 'ate' my .dll
files. I first thought I had been hacked but I now know I wasn't, it was a

Hi everyone..
I am so pleased with myself... I fixed my computer (I think!!!) finally....
every bit of software is loaded ... PRINTER is working too!!!
And yes...there is a downside :(
I lost my files that I couldn't access :( or save to floppy :(
That means my Uni notes etc have gone *sob* and my files that I kept my notes
for the book that I am writing and my genealogy notes, emails etc. I am
sometimes thankful for my dyslexic ADHD which prefers me to work with hard
copies so I oblige myself. I
Yes, I have posted my history to Rootsweb.

Since you are using Outlook Express it should work. Others have written
privately that it does work for them and I am using the method in my own
Outlook Express.
When reading a digest in Outlook Express, highlight the first item in the
attachment field called "ATT", then use your control key and F3 and it will

Please post your interest to let all listers know what you are researching.
The list number grows daily despite daily unsubbing.
It just might be the one that unsubs that is your key to what you seek.
Have my signature up and running so am posting it to keep my research
interest active.

Hi Everyone
I came across this site in my travels. It is part of Mark Howells group: He
focuses differently than Cyndi Howells does with her website. On Mark's site
somewhere you will find the details of the copyright laws and the
applicability to family research and the Internet.
This site is to do with newspaper articles and makes for a very interesting
and inspiring read.

I contacted Rootsweb list admin regarding the current Trojan doing the rounds

Family history researchers, who are often addicted to their daily
"fix" of mail from their favourite RootsWeb lists, began sending e-mails

Don't panic if RootsWeb's list mail doesn't appear to be reaching your
