Dear Paul, This is not my family line. I do know about Mary though. Her mother was Jozefa Duszynska, born 1841 and died 26 May 1931 in Bennington, NY. Mary's siblings were Walentyna, Andrqej, and Jozef. Her sister-in-law was Julia. The church Jozefa was buried in was kosciola Serca Jezus in Bennington, NY. I found this information in Dziennik Dia Wssystkich (Everybody's Daily) the Polish newspaper in Buffalo on 29 May 1931 in the obits. Sue

Hello, List: I'm really new to the POSEN-L list so will watch comments about the social history and resources for the area as we go. I just discovered my HUNGER line came from the Posen area. I was told they were from Germany which I understood was really Prussia. Here goes: Johann Michael HUNGER, b 1828 in Glash|tte, Czarnikau, Prussia. I have found birth records of my Jacoby/Jacobs family in Bromberg/Bydgoszcz parish. The family lived in GROCHOLL (Groscholl?) James Thanks for the quick and interesting response. Valentine Krajewski appears to traveled directly to La Crosse with his wife (m. 10/1863) and daughter (b. 5/1867 in Poland), their oldest son, my great grandfather, was born in La Crosse in Dec. 1870, thus the calculation they came in 1868, 69 or 70. He may well have worked in the forest of Margonin. He was a teamster by trade. Cholera in 1866 is interesting. How would I find more about this. Limited to Margonin or throughout the region?
