My great-grandmother was Jane Potts, b. abt 1802 in Georgia, d. aft. 1870 in White County, Arkansas. She married William Jarrett Durham in 1820 in Jackson County, Georgia. One source says her father was Stephen Potts, about whom I know nothing. Does anyone have information on Jane Potts? Ken Parker

5. [POTTS-L] Potts from St. John, New Brunswick [1]
I am looking for information on Joseph William Potts who (I understand) came from England to St. John, New Brunswick. I know the family ran a wholesale produce store and that one of Joseph's sons became the mayor of St. John. Some of the children (there were 15 in all) migrated down to the states including my ggrandfather Harry Havelock Potts (b.1872). I am looking for anyone who might be related to this family. I am searching for the descendants and/or siblings and parents of James Tanner or LaTanner Potts born about 1816 and married Louisa Mary Thornton on 29 Sept 1837 in Monroe County, Mississippi. They had the following children that I know of: Rufus Brenard or Brevard, JoAnn, Nancy Catherine "Kit", William Milford, Elizabeth, Josephine Lydia, and 2 unknown female POTTS. Hi, Searching for information on Joshua Potts born about 1815 in southeastern PA. Married Caroline and had children: Francis, Mary, Annie Hester, John, Susan, Philip. In 1850, Joshua and family were living in Lancaster City. Annie Hester married Emanuel Dorwart in Lancaster in 1861. John Potts was living in a soldier's home in Elizabeth City, VA in 1896. Hi Elizabeth, The Potts families come from all over the world. They have English, Irish, Scottish, Dutch and German origins as well as others like Spain. In Germany for example the name could have come from Putts. In Scotland the name comes from Philpott. In England it was most likely Pot. So it is clear that all those with the surname Potts can not trace their origins back to a single Potts family of any particular country. It's been about a year since I sent out feelers on this topic, which is a major brick wall! I am searching for the ancestors of my paternal grandmother, Beulah Potts. Beulah married Shelby Lemon Walker, who was born in Martin County (?), IN in 1885. Beulah was born January 7, 1891, location unknown. The couple had 8 children. Shelby died in 1948, and Beulah later remarried Elmer Lowman, of Claypool, IN. Beulah died in January, 1976. Does anyone have any connections with Beulah Potts? Pam Green tptex
