The answer depends upon what your question is.
Unfortunately as far as I know my chart, Splits and reunions of the
Church of Scotland 1560 to 1929 is no longer on the net. However if
anyone writs and asks me I'll send a copy. I must get it back on the net
over Christmas but I was translated and my old Parish don't have the
same site.
Historically in Scotland the majority of Churches have been
Presbyterian in government, but not in name.
In 1845 it would be true to say that there were only the
Can anyone tell me if they know of a Presbyterian Church in Duns, Scotland circa 1845? What were the names of these churches if there were any? thanks Sally
John, Mary Beth and List,
I'm sorry that anyone has had issues viewing some of the databases I've transcribed on Awesome Genealogy. You need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 5 to view them. It is free software and found here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
I've put that link on my site now as well to help people out.
Thanks for your interest in my site, and Happy Holidays!
Sincerely,
Roger

You would need the Irish Presbyterian Fasti. I think that there was an
edition published in about 1984.
The source for all things Irish Presbyterian is the
Presbyterian Historical Society,
Church House
Fisherwick Place
Belfast.
I haven't got the Post Code but you can look it up on the Post Office site

Thanks so much for posting this to the list, Roger. I have the Adobe Acrobat
Reader #4, and not version #5. Will most definitely visit your very good
site again, and download the latest version. Hopefully, the problem will be
solved!
Kind regards,

Regarding the post below my computer does NOT have the proper "plug-in" which
will allow me to access the "Presbyteries in PA 1706-1788".
Might anyone have a suggestion as to how to connect to this site?
Thank you for your time, and a happy and safe holiday season to all.

Mary Beth & John,
I didn't have any trouble. Just click on whatever interests you. I
think only about 2 of the files came back as couldn't be found or displayed.
A lot of them are done in Acrobat Reader, so if you don't have it you should
get it..
Do either of you have any Buchanan, McMillan, Edmondson surnames?
Those have been real problem-areas for me Mine were Irish, Scots and
Scotch-Irish and settled in SC & GA before ending up in MS.
Merry Holidays to you both and the re
Mary Beth, I think it's site, not your computer. I couldn't figure out how to use the site and I'd like to since I know some of my Scotch-Irish family came out of PA. The Coopers and Branhams and McElhannons left there for, in most cases, GA, though some earlier Coopers who were Englishmen, left the same parts of PA for VA.
My Shields ancesters first appear, at least my knowing for sure that they are MY Shields, in Pittsylvania county, VA, just before the Revolution, at which point they were Presbyterian,
Hi everyone,
This week I've added 5 new databases and one new section (Ontario 1871 Census) to my site, Awesome Genealogy! The new databases can be found here:
http://www.awesomegenealogy.com/newstuff.shtml
They include:
Germans and Palatines in the news in Pennsylvania in 1749
Accessions to the Presbytery of Donegal, Pennsylvania 1760-1788
Accessions to the Presbytery of Abingdon, Virginia 1760-1788
Accessions to the Presbytery of Hanover, Virginia 1760-1788
Instances of Moravians in the Ontario 1871
Sally,
Have you tried electricscotland? That may not be the name of it. I see it
referened in Burke's Peerage ezine. Let me know after the holidays, and I
will be glad to send you a back issue of the ezine. A lot of the info on the
site is only available to members, which I am not, but they still have
e-books, etc on the United Kingdom.
Sincerely,
Lynne
