Does anyone have information about what church records may be available for the Cherry Fork Presbyterian Church, in Cherry Fork, Adams County, Ohio? I am interested in obtaining marriage records from the 1870s and wonder if they exist. I've contacted the church directly, without any luck.

From what I've read and the way I understand it, what we call the Scotch-Irish were Scottish people, almost totally Presbyterian, who fled or were forced from Scotland to Ireland because of persecution by the Church of England in Scotland. They stayed pretty much to themselves, formed their own little communities in Ireland, and eventually, many of them emigrated to America. Does anyone know a source that might provide some sort of list of family names of Presbyterians who moved to Northern Ireland from the lowlands of Scotland in the great settlements of the 1600s? There seems to be a general belief that the great mass of Presbyterians who moved from Northern Ireland to American in the 1700s were of solid Scottish background.
