1. Re: New Religions [1]
Just to add to the variety: Some of my Quaker ancestors became interested in Spiritualism. I have seen letters and autobiographies that indicate that this was fairly common in Indiana and here in Minnesota. Dan Stubbs
2. Keith/Connie Street's Re: Correction : WILLIAM WARNER [1]
A couple of these I sent these to directly to LARRY earlier today, but since it was asked again - These are all First Name sites (I have another list of Surname sites). No 'Baby Naming' sites are included. I rechecked these URLs today before posting. 3. Re: Bio list from Earlham [1]
Jacie, I am interested in any bio information you may have on Everheart. My gggr grandmother was Catherine Everheart(aka Evans) . All I know is that she was married to Henry Doan and that she died abt. l840 in Circleville, Pa. If your info connects to her in any way, it would be much appreciated since I have been at a standstill here. 7. Re: The Journel of John Woolman [1]
Curious - was excited to read about this book - but this URL is "not findable" on-line for some reason; is this journal(s), book(s) available at some libraries somewhere or are these published today - sure would like to have the chance to peruse these - with all curiousity and fascination, a fellow researcher, anne-ology laginnis@bigfoot.com http://www.geocities.com/

14. JACIE & AOL [1]
Jacie's problem may be with AOL's mail system. I also have an AOL acct. and for a while they repeatedly blocked my receiving msgs by bouncing them and saying "the member is not accepting mail at this time" or something similar. I wrote to the Postmaster at AOL three times before they finally put a stop to that practise. They tried to blame it on the way I had my mail box set to receive mail but I pointed out to them that it was the samy way it had been from 'day one'. SO, Jacie, let people on

16. Re: Letter from Joseph E. Meyers [1]
Joseph Myers was a resident of Cedar County, Iowa, and taught at Scattergood Friends School--I believe this was in the 1890s. (I had one of his great-grandsons as a student when I taught there in the 1980s.) Myers was also a sometime resident of the Barnesville neighborhood in Belmont County, Ohio. The Iowa State Historical Society Library in Iowa City has photocopies of a series of short biographies, written by Myers, describing various local Quakers. I do not know where the originals of these are, and

19. Re: Quakers that became Famous [1]
Ahh. Yes. But, according to _Encyclopedia Brittanica_, the FAMOUS Florence Nightengale was the daughter of William Nightengale of Embley Park, Hampshire. She was born in 1820 in Florence, but spet her childhood mostly in Derbyshire, England. Right name. Wrong person. --- Dan Treadway postal: P. O. 20. Early Missouri MM questions [1]
The MMs - Ozark (near Cassville, I think), Barry County and Union, Jasper County. Questions: Do the early (late 1860s/1870s) records of these MMs exist? If so, where? Have they been published? Where in Jasper County was/is Union MM? Thank you, Judy Dodge
21. Quaker Migration Routes & the Purchase of Slaves [1]
Can anyone tell me anything about Quaker Migration Routes to Indiana from North Carolina? Is there any reliable account of what was going on on these trips and the troubles that they encountered? I have also recently been told that it was not uncommon for Quakers of Indiana to return to North Carolina (which was a slave state, the reason which they left.) to not only visit friends, and possibly bring them back to Indiana with them, but they would also purchase slaves freedom legally and take them to India

23. War & Quakers-questions! [1]
I agree with Carl that as long as the discussion of the Civil War relates to Quakers it is okay, and actually very interesting, to discuss it here. Although my direct Quaker ancestors did not fight in that war, several of their brothers did. These were the KENNARD and JAMES families of Indiana, mainly Henry County. Several of these men died. Many of them who returned from the war then condemned their behavior and became members of their meeting again. I would love to know if it was simply the issue of
