2. [QUE-BHC GENEALOGY] 1851 1851 Census-Alexander Roy McLennan [1]
My g-g-grandfather Alexander Roy McLennan lived in the Beechridge area (outside St Urbain PQ) from 1838-1888 (other than a few year in the 1840's when he had moved to present day Ontario). In 1854 the settlers on French Seigneuries were allowed to buy the land they lived on. One of those was an Alexander McLennan living on the Third Concession in Willaimstown. However I'm not sure if he is my Alex. As the buyers in the Third Concession were listed by their lot numbers then it follows that the nearest lo

5. Re: [QUEBEC-BEAUHUNTCHAT] Drouin Collection research [1]
Am hoping that someone might help me to review the Drouin Collection via Ancestry correctly. I am confused re St-Chrysostome vs St-Jean Chrysostome. The collection shows St-Chrys. as being in Chat. Co. & St-Jean Chrys. shows as Levis Co. Most of my ancestors were b/m/d in Chat. Co. & many ref's in my data base I am showing/refer to St-Jean Chrysostome there. I do need, & would appreciate, some help to get my records correct. My thanks, in advance, for your advice. Bev

12. Re: [QC-BHC] Anglican Church in Dunham? [1]
You are confusing Durham which is the village that changed its name to became Ormstown village sometime between 1856 and 1881 and Dunham which is a town in the eastern Townships in the area of present day Cowensville. Maybe it is time for someone to put up a comprehensive guide to place names in the Chateauguay Valley. I just a few days ago viewed an old Quebec Cadestre Map that listed the founding dates of many of the municipalities in the Valley. Maybe I could expand on it if there is interest. Burt
13. Re: [QC-BHC] Anglican Church in Dunham? [1]
Burt, I, for one, would be very interested in a list of municipalities with their founding dates, particularly if it gave the historic and current names where applicable. If there is some place to obtain a copy of that map, I'd also be interested in having that information. Thanks. 14. [QC-BHC] Bombadiers in Quebec [1]
Paul, Around the 1850's in Quebec there were Bombadiers who married into the Roy family. There were living in the Dunham/Dunham Flats area of Quebec. 18. [QC-BHC] Beauharnois/Huntingdon County Border - 1861 [1]
Hello List, Can someone tell me where the Beauharnois/Huntingdon County border would have been in the vicinity of Ormstown in 1861? Thanks to a clue from Gina Smith, I found my elusive Leon Tessier and Catherine Robidoux living near the western outskirts of Ormstown, St. Malachie parish, in 1851. He was calling himself John Tessier (Thanks Gina). Problem is, I can't find him in St. Malachie in 1861. Is it possible that the the newly created border placed him in Huntingdon County in 1861? Regards to all,

25. [QC-BHC] Irish settlers at Norton Creek, 1825 on [1]
Is anyone else researching Irish settlers at Norton Creek (St. Jean de Chrysostome Parish)? The names I'm researching are Hanratty and Bulger. They were at Norton Creek around 1825-1830 and stayed there until the 1890's when a number of both families came to Montana. I'd like to hear from anyone else researching Irish in that area - my roadblock is finding out what part of Ireland my people came from. Kathleen.
