Hi
Could the person who has DRAYSON in their QUESTED line please contact me?
This is David Daniel Tapsal DRAYSON (dies 1859) who marries Mercy QUESTED.
They have a son John Quested DRAYSON who marries Ann KEMP.

Helen,
Do you or any one else on the list know of a George Quested who started the
"Dane John Academy" a boarding school for boys, at No. 1 Watling Street,
Canterbury. It was started circa 1790.
In the Kentish Gazette for Jan 15 1819 George Quested called his school, "The
Dane John Academy for Gentleman"
I was wondering if or how he is related to our Quested's, Helen.

Hi
These are the wills for QUESTED from 1858 to 1939 proved in England. I have
copies of these wills.
If you would like a copy of any of these wills please let me know. I would
appreciate it if you can send me any QUESTED details you may have.
I am hoping to set these up on a Web page but that won't be until next year
sometime.

Helen

Hi again Wanda,
You might consider doing a google search using the words "Quested Saline
Kansas" (but not in quotes) in the search box. It's possibly a good idea to use
the advance search feature and exclude the word 'requested' or 're-quested'
from the search. A quick Google search pulled up a very interesting biographical
piece on Richard QUESTED (the one in the 1880 US census). It can be found
at:
http://www.kancoll.org/books/cutler/saline/saline-co-p11.html
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Janet
If doing a google search for quested you ought to also have google ignore
sites with the words monitor and monitors because there are many sites that
mention these pieces of equipment produced by Roger Quested's company.
Hi Wanda,
You might wish to start off by visiting Graham Butcher's site for the QUESTED
family. It has a substantial amount of information regarding the family. I
had a quick look and found references to the Kansas QUESTEDs under both the
Social Security Death Index and also the 1880 US census material on his site.
Saline, Kansas information is in both. It appears that the first Quested from
England to Walnut, Saline, Kansas was James Quested (born circa 1824) - this
is from the census material.
Hi all
Been on this list before, but have changed my email address some while ago.
Anyhow, thought I'd join again and let you know of the site I have just put
on the web on the Quested surname. It's a bit rough around the edges as I
have just thrown it together for now, and most of the information has
already been sent to the coordinator of this list (Is Helen Smith still the
co-ordinator?), but there are a few new bits. I will continue to add and
tidy up the site. Hope it proves useful to someone.
Hi Graham
Good to hear from you again. The website looks good.
Yes I am still the coordinator for the list but have been very quiet
latelydue to my father's terminal illness last year and just trying to get
myself back together again after that.
I am taking Mum to a trip to England (leaving on Sunday) so hopefully will
perk up again after that.
I have been getting a number of pre-1858 wills togetehr and a fair bit of
other stuff too but have to get it into a useable form.
Regards
Helen

I am trying to locate more information on Richard QUESTED born 1808 Margate, Kent, married to Sophia BARNES born 1810. Their children were Richard Joseph, Elizabeth. Emma, Thomas and Susannah (my direct line). Sophia died in 1849 and Richard later married Emma Elizabeth Dane. They had a son George Richard in 1860. Any help would be very much appreciated. Pam
Hi Helen & List,
Thanks for that info on Samuel QUESTED b 1738. I was thrilled to get his wife's surname as Elizabeth HUNT as you say not proven yet.
It was good to get a address of another QUESTED researcher to, things are looking up.
Thanks Helen for keeping me in mind, and for your help in the past. Good luck to everyone.
Bye for now,
David Jackson NZ.

Hi Paul
I am sorry but I don't have a mention of Eve on my line. I have been
collecting QUESTED information for quite a while now but most is in a leter
time period.
I would like to add Eve to the database which I run in Custodian. Do you
have a burial date for Eve?
Regards
Helen

Hi
I recently gave a monumental inscription transcript for this gentleman where
I wrote 1870. I still don't know if I transcribed it incorrectly or that was
what was on the fiche. However I can tell you it is wrong as I have this
gentleman's will. The will index says that he died 3 April 1879.
I have all the wills from 1858 to 1943. As I get time (and this is not
likely to be in a hurry) I'll transcribe them to the list.

parents John and Elizabeth PICKNET.
I am researching the PICKNET(T)surname but so far have been unable to
