Hello-
I'm looking for information on Samuel (or Samuel R) and Webb (or Webb W)
Quick of Pike and Monroe counties, Pennsylvania. I believe they are brothers,
born around 1825-1835 in Pennsylvania. I'd like very much to identify their
father and any other siblings. Webb is listed in the 1850 and 1860 U.S.
censuses and Samuel in 1870, 1880, and 1890 censuses.

Hi -
I'm trying to verify the relationships between these 3.
According to Quicks in America, Edwin R (b. 1827) is a son of Peter AL
(b.1799, m. Sara Newman 1821), who could be son of Jacob Quick (b. 1775, m.
Eleanor van Garden). The book isn't certain of the parentage. Does anyone have any
information on these 3? Edwin R. is my great-great grandfather.
Thanks for any help -

Can anyone provide information on Peter A.L. Quick born in 1799 (G930 in the
Quick genealogy book)? He is supposed to be the son of Jacob Quick (F651),
but this is not verified in the book. If anyone has any real data on him,
I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks very much -

the area in 1861 and built a log house. 1867 built a better house and in

Hi Ron,
None of this rings a bell just yet but......
I am sure there will be lots of replies and we will see what we can do to get
you hooked up to the right Quicks. I think they were all Quakers weren't they
or at least appeared to be.
My John didn't fight in the Revolution but fought in the war of 1812.
I hope we can find a link here. I'll keep you in my Quick file and keep you
posted if something comes up.
Regards,
Kimberly
One of my grandmother's brothers was reportedly born in St. Ives in the 1880's, even
though the family lived in Plymouth, Devon. Have not researched this any further,
but I do have a childhood recollection of my grandmother talking about relatives in
the U.S. None of the family who are still living know anything about it. The
Osborne name is also whispered in connection with an illegitimate birth in the
family in the 1870's, in Devon. Can't find any corroborating documentation.

John thanks for the input. We also had some family in Devon but they were
other than Quicks. Some of the family moved to New Zealand and some to the
US. Mary Osborne's parents were Christopher and Mary Ann Clatworthy from
Maker, England. Her parents where William Clatworthy and Elizabeth Jope
from Cornwall and Devon.
Does any of this sound familiar?

Hi, folks -- I have a question -- I'm sure I will be corrected if I am
wrong -- weren't the Quakers pacifists? Sort of like Quaker and War Veteran
is an oxymoron?
Just curious.
Anxious to learn...

Looking for parents/siblings of Abraham QUICK and his sister Ruth.
Abraham was b.1830 in perhaps Staatsburg, Dutchess County, New York. Ruth was b.1839 in Hyde Park, Dutchess County, New York. I have both their death records and both their parents are listed as George QUICK and Caroline HOLMES.
At about age 15 (abt. 1845), Abraham came to Town of Woodstock, Ulster County, New York, and four years later married the young widow Maria WOLVEN HOYT.
In 1850, eleven-year-old Ruth is living with Mariah Carter
Hi,
Yes, Quakers. This Quick was written as a Rev War veteran, and is buried in
the old Quaker Cemetery in Barry Co, MI. (north of Battle Creek). He came to
live with his son Abraham from NY.
My connection is that Nancy Quick was the widow of my Cole ancestor through
my mother's line. That family came from Wilson NY (near Lockport) in Niagara
County.
I follow them because my Cole line hits a dead end back there, and I keep
hoping for a connection through a wife's family records.
I have more info at hom
