You all remember that Teague Quillin traveled from Maryland to Cumberland
Co., NC to Surry Co., NC to Tennessee with Delaney Herring, and that Teague
married Mary Herring?
Well, in the North Carolina Military Land Warrants in the present-day state
of Tennessee, I find that Matthew Hearon, Pvt. assigned his land to Sarah
Hearon [his widow] and to Danile Quellin, John Picken, and Stephen Slade.
Who is this Matthew Hearon and is he related to the Quillins and who is his
wife, Sarah?

Looking for parents, siblings of a Charles D Quillen, born around Nashville
in 1802.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has Quillens in the Nashville/
Davidson Co area at that time to get names, etc.
Will be taking a research trip to Nashville this summer and would like to
know as much as possible about Quillens in the area around 1800.
Thanks
Karen Cox
Sarah QUILLEN married Jack PHILLIPS about 1810 in Maury or Lawrence
County TN. They moved to Lauderdale Co. AL about 1828 where Jack
established a plantation at Center Star, AL. Apparently Sarah died
about 1840 as Jack remarried. Charles QUILLEN, a saddler, lived
nearby. Was he related? Who were Sarah's parents? She may have been
born in one of the Carolinas. Any info appreciated.

Several of us have an Elihu Quillen in our family. Here is what I found on
the IGI. Didn't have time to check the census records. Will do that next.
Elihu Quillen married Sarah Cree 28 Apr 1836 in Harrison County OH. The
source is Batch/Film M514341, Serial/Sheet 3196.
Elihu Quillen married Jean Baker 26 May 1806 in Jefferson County OH. Forgot
to get the film/sheet.
Almeda A. Quillen (daughter of an Elihu Quillen) married Wm. E. Smith 24 Dec.

Carl,
Check out Suzanne's Home Page. It may give you some of what you are looking
for. Do you have any dates? It is possible that this is tied to our line.
We have been getting sooo much info, sooo fast. Some we have not been able to
confirm, but are working on it. Have you checked the census records?
Happy Hunting! Check this out!!

I'm looking for information on Daniel King Quilling, a physician in New
Orleans in the 1850's. He is said to have sent his wife and son to
Northern Louisiana to escape the Yellow Fever Outbreak and stayed to help
tend to the victims. Eventually he also contracted the disease and died,
but not sure where.
Any information would be greatly appreciated, including ideas on where to
look.

Hi Jeff,
I just wanted to let you know I can't believe how much information is on this
site!!! My fingers are tired from typing the past 2 days!! But I was able to
find a connection from our Teague Quillen to the family on your site. Let me
send you my gedcom file and you will find that Benjamin W. Holbrook is the
father of Bengamine Colby Holbrook who married Youra May Quillen!! I'll let
you know more later once I've finished entering all the information into my
system! Thanks for the homepage address!
Hello cousins!
I was chatting with a new found cuz and we have uncovered some missing
information. Those of you who stopped by my homepage and read on Teague
Quillen, saw that (quote) "the records on Teague III are very rare, not
to be had at this time. Maybe some member of the family will eventually
find or know about him in later histories."
Well, the time is at hand!! This is the information I have uncovered,
with the help of Kathy Storm who is Teague III's descendant. I hope
this helps you out! I k

I just found out today that my grandfather's given name was William
Hamilton McQuillan. He was from around Motherwell, Scotland..Belles
Hills..to be exact... (not sure of the city's spelling). His
naturalization papers have his last name spelled as McQuillen....(which
is wrong)
