9. [QUINET] Quinnett or Quinnet surname [1]
An interesting discovery I made a few weeks ago is that one of my ancestors whose surname I thought was Quinnett, in fact turned out to be Guinnet (one or two 't's) - a far more common name. The 19th century 'G' could easily be mistranscribed as a 'Q'. This may open up avenues for people researching the obscure Quinnet or Quinnett variants. Dear Jeverna, Thank you for your prompt reply to my message. Of course, I am interested in any information you might have. We have recently added to our Quinette line, by meeting with Marcie Centola in Florida last month. She had more pictures of my Grandmothers family then we did. We found our "link" was my GGrandmother, and her GGgrandfather were sister and brother. I also learned the name of their mother, thus a whole new generation to work on. I would be very interested in seeing if and ho

Robert Welcome Nice to see you on the list. I know Marcy Roberts is signing up today and rochelle should be also. 21. Re: [Quinet] For the record [1]
From Pierre-Jean Quinet to Robert Lee Quinnett The original spelling of my family name was Quinet and sometimes apparently Quinette. It has also been spelled as Quinnett and Quinnette. My family came to the United States directly from France in about 1832. So far I do not know what part of France they came from, except that one of the children seems to have been born in Paris (see Joseph-Pierre below). These are the members of that first family who came here from France: My 2nd g-grandfather Pierre-Jean
