22. [QUINN] uiRe: Mary Quinn m. Michael Ryan Tipperary [1]
Hi, Sandy, My Irish all came from Tipperary or Clare, came through New York, stayed awhile there, then ended up in Bradford County. Then in the early 1900s, many moved up to Corning, where I was born. My dad was six months old when they moved there and his mother, Nellie Ryan McCarthy, died six months after his little sister was born. He never knew any relatives on the Ryan side, so it's hard to trace them. I did find his second cousins still in Canton, who remembered Nellie as a young girl. I think i
23. Re: [QUINN] Mary Quinn m. Michael Ryan Tipperary [1]
Hi Pat, Wish I help you but mine are also lost but they were in the same area. My Michael Quinn was born in Tipperary about 1819 and came to Canada around 1841 and then to New York in Cattaraugus County which is very close to Bradford. A few of the family members moved down to Bradford, a few in NY, a few back to Canada and my line moved over to WI, than WV. Seems they worked on the railroad mostly. I know this may not help but at least you know your not alone. Good luck. Sandy Carneiro -----

Sandy, My grandfather, whose parents came from Ireland and settled in "The Irish Settlement" in Canton worked for the New York Central. That may be why he moved to Corning. I've been working on genealogy since March 17, 1979. Appropriate that I started on St. Patrick's Day. I'll have to admit that for the past ten or fifteen years, I haven't done a lot, although I've tied up a couple of loose ends through the Internet and met some cousins. So I won't give up. Sometimes stuff you find doesn't seem like
25. [QUINN] Mary Quinn m. Michael Ryan Tipperary [1]
My g-g-grandmother, Mary Quinn was born in Ireland and married Michael Ryan, also born in Ireland. Family legend says he was from Tipperary. I don't know if they married in Ireland or the U.S. They probably came about 1850. Soon after that, they had a daughter, Mary, who was born in Dunkirk, NY. Then they moved to the Canton, PA area in Bradford County. They had William, Johanna, Michael, James and Dennis. I lost track of them after 1860 and have no record of when or where they died. Would appreciate any in
