Thanks Jim for the info on Quarles Warehouse and Landing. I'll see if I can find it on a recent map. 2. Re: [Qualls-Quarles] Quarles moved from Georgia to Arkansas [1]
My gggmother (Martha Qualls Emery) moved from Dade Co., GA to Johnson Co AR and then on to Montgomery Co., AR. with her son and his family around 1899. Does anyone know where Quarles Landing and Quarles Warehouse was in VA (King and Queen Co.?) but where exactly. The only mention I have seen was that this warehouse supplied Rev. troops. One of the Malloys was born there. Pauline Kouvalas roland.kristi@att.net wrote: > > Is anyone related to the Quarles' that moved from > G
3. [QUALLS-QUARLES] George W Qualls mystery - WOW [1]
Well, I just started on this unbelievable saga. I have read the archives on the mail list and the messages on gen forum and on ancestry, etc. I would like to know WHO started the story that Louisa was the father of the children living with her in 1870. I know that they were living next door and that in 1880 she is in his household as "Wife" and "Her" children are listed as Qualls. But where did the story get started that she was the Louisa who was Brittain Smith's daughter. Some posts I read said that

Perhaps someone could forward them to this list. I really do not have the time. But the opportunity is there. 8. Question Please [1]
Hello list, I have searched everywhere for my Martha Qualls born in the early to mid 1800s without any luck. Yesturday I heard from my 2nd cousin for the 1st time and he was told that she was most likely connected to a Nathan Qualls? I also heard about a Gatewood Qualls. Theese Qualls were in Tennessee. I realize that I haven't much to go on here, but this is about all I know for now. My Martha is the mother of Rebecca J. Smith. Any ideas or leads appriciated! Thanks in advance for your help! Debra
9. [Qualls-Quarles] Major James Quarles (1720 - 1799) [1]
Okay, I'll try this again. Apparently, the first attempt had a garbled address. I am trying to find the connection between the James Quarles in the subject line and the rest of the Quarles line. I feel fairly certain that this James Quarles was the father of two rather prominent Virginia brothers: (1) Major Isaac Quarles (1754/5 - 24 Jan 1817) of "Woodberry", King William County, VA, who married Elizabeth Southerland (16 Feb 1758 - 19 Jun 1810) and (2) Captain William Henry Quarles (abt 1740 - 17 Se

Hi, George. Glad to see you are still alive and well! My connection to the Qualls is via my Grandmother, Amy May Qualls, daughter of Matthew Holford Qualls and MAry Carolyn Culton. Martin Qualls and Mary Ledbetter were her Grandparents. I remember my Father getting upset once when there was a bad guy on the tv program, Gunsmoke named Ledbetter. Dad said they never made a Ledbetter a good guy and he didn't like it because they were his ancestors. There is/was a Snow family in Portland Oregon that came up
