1. Re: [RABORN] [RABURN] Parke Jones Letters [1]
I would venture to say that quite a number do, Kamy. I do, for instance, and I remember sending them to a number of others several years ago. Evelyn S. Kamy, I would be greatly interested in receiving copies of these letters. Also, I deeply hope that maybe we can stir up some interest in 2008 and get the lists going again. My Rayburn connection married my McNew connection and I created a website for the McNews and hope to do the same for all of my other Surnames. I set up a section that I called "Letters and Inquiries in Tyme" and these letters would be perfect to set up one for the Rayburns (all spellings). http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~g
3. Re: [RABORN] Parke Jones Letters [1]
Cynthia: At one time it was thought that our Joseph of McMinn Co., TN was the son of Joseph of SC (Edgefield Co.) but we have never been able to prove or document that. I try to collect the various "Rayburn" lines to keep on file so that hopefully one day we will be able to connect. Would it be possible to send me a file on your family? Thanks for responding. 5. [RABORN] Parke Jones Letters [1]
All the "Rayburn" list have been quiet for some time. A gentleman recently contacted me about the Parke Jones letters that my father has. At one time there were a few people that had some interest in these letters and possibly putting them together in some way. I was curious as to how many people on this mailing list that has letters from Parke Jones? Maybe we can stir up some interest in 2008 and get the lists going again. Kamy Rayburn Gamble
6. Re: [RABORN] Parke Jones Letters [1]
I never heard of them. I'm a descendant of Joseph of SC and Joseph of MS. Mine are mostly spelled Raborn. 7. [RABORN-L] Misc. Raborn Info [1]
For many years I corresponded with a lady named Mary Page, now deceased. She researched the Raborn and Carter families for many years. I have her letters, which were long and typed single spaced on an old manual typewriter, in a looseleaf notebook. These have become priceless for my research and for helping others. The only problem is that she rambled a lot and was sometimes repeated, and it is hard to find anything easily. She does mention Sherrod Raborn a couple of times and says she BELIEVES him to

Does anyone know the parents or siblings of Sherrod RABORN b. about 1811, MISS? Or anything about his wife Sarah RIPPIE? 9. Re: [RABORN-L] Henry Raborn b 1815 [1]
Dear Cynthia, I'm sorry I do not have any information on Elizabeth Raborn, b. 1835, that would help you. I am trying to get more from some family in VA and if I do I will send it on. And no, I do not have a copy of Henry Raborn's will. Is that something I can send for? I do have one for William Pearce (the family Levicy married into) from Bienville Parish, LA, which is very interesting after one deciphers the handwriting. Thanks. Verona Verona & Don

Perhaps your GW Raborn was the son of Joseph's GW. That would be about right for the next generation. I don't have any information about where he went from MS or where he died. Maybe Cynthia does. Verona & Don

Cynthia, that is very encouraging! Perhaps if you were able to document Joseph's children, the children of the other brothers could eventually also be documented and straighten out this bunch! My Raborn research file is the fattest file I have--with the least info in it. Thanks for any help *VInita Shaw ViniL@aol.com wrote: > I am also researching this line and struggling! Verona, do you have a copy of Henry Raborn's Will? I am trying to place Elizabeth Letitia Raborn, who married William Hair on March 23, 1858 in Bienville Parish. He died in the war. She then married Martin Taylor Anders on Oct. 2, 1867. They later moved to Texas. Her daughter married into a family that connects up to mine several times through marriage, but this would be the only real relation. Henry's daughter, Elizabeth would be about the right age, and I would like something to help prove or dispro
