6. Re: [RABURN] Raburn ancestery Itawamba MS [1]
My maternal ancestry is of the Rayborn line and I have gone as far back as Joseph Rayborn of Edgefield County, South Carolina. He died in 1793. His wife's name was Ann. Joseph's son Anthony is my great, great, great grandfather. Anthony was granted a land grant in Amite County Mississippi on May 29, 1809. He died in 1832. I do not find a Thomas in my line. 24. [RABURN-L] Parke Jones [1]
Hi cousins! It seems that many of us are in possession of some of the prolific correspondence carried out by Parke Jones and his father as they diligently and painstakingly investigated our mutual ancestors. Since it appears that their notes and documents are in thre hands of a cousin unwilling to make the treasure trove available, maybe we could pool our resources. For example, my aunt corresponded with Parke back in the mid 1960's. The letters give info and family pages on a couple of the descendant
25. [RABURN-L] Isom Rayburn [1]
I am also looking for an elusive Rayburn. I have been told that the father of my earliest identified Rayburn ancester was named "Isaac" and that he was from NC. Isaac is close enough to Isom to make me investigate any possible connection. My Isaac would have been born around 1800...his son James (my ancestor) was born in 1826 in NC. I wonder if there is any connection to the Isaac M. Rayburn who was born in the 1880s and is buried in McMinn TN?
