Searching for info on Luther Thomas Reed or his brother James Reed born
Ohio. Luther was born Nov. 10, 1846 and died Nov 12, 1925. His brother
James attended the funeral. James was involved with railways. Luther moved
with his family to Iowa about 1857. Luther married (1) MARY COLLINS June
24, 1869 it's not known where.. He married (2) EMILY AUGUSTA EMERSON
November 17, 1875 in South Creek, Nebraska, daughter of WILLIAM EMERSON and
EMILY HAPGOOD. Luther was a land agent in Missouri at one time.

Noted with interest the discussion regarding property right of females
and the legal age for involvement in various legal transactions.
When JULIA ANN REED & ABNER PACE married in Guilford Co. in 1843, the
bondsman at their wedding was a RICHARD MINER/MINOR. Since the bondsman
at a marriage was usually (but not always) connected to the bride's
family, I think the Miner connection might be with Julia Ann Reed.
In 1838 a LUCINDA MINER/MINOR married a JESSE REID/REED in Guilford Co.,
NC. (bondsman John Reid, so here the connect is to the groom, so the rule
doesn't always hold).
Is anyone researching this Reed-Miner/Minor connection?

Looking for the parents of George W. Reed of Scottdale Westmoreland Co
PA:
George W. Reed b 25 Jun 1830 d 9 Oct 1912
married abt 1851 to Mary Ann Mognet b. 8 Jun 1834 d 23 Dec 1911 (her
parents were Joseph Mognet and Nancy Prince).
They are buried in Scottdale Cem. The adjacent plots are occupied by
William Reed b 9-15-1825 d 1-12-1903 and wife Eliza b 3-30-1845 d
1-14-1925. I believe that this William Reed is the son of John Reed
(1798-1891) and Margaret Browneller (1802-1894) and wonder if the

He died 11 Feb 1845 in Espyville, Crawford Co., PA. I descend from his
daughter Anna b. 1792 d.

I recently found the names of my gr-gr-grandparents from Ohio. I don't have any dates or information for John M. Reed. He married
Celina Mauck. I have dates for two of their sons born in Meigs Co., Ohio. They were named William M. Reed, born Feb 26, 1859, and Maurice McClellan Reed, born Aug 3, 1861. A third son was James H. Reed, born Jan 30, 1863. (place unknown) There were supposedly three additional sons. These three sons all moved to Missouri, and I believe Celina came later.

Hancock, Mississippi. They had at least one daughter
Mary Reed(b.1857) who married Sam Spiers. These are
my GGGgrandparents.

Seeking info on Benjamin F. Reed born around 1810 in Ky. Was married 3 times. 1st wife named Nellie, last name unknown. 2nd wife was Althy Gants, and 3rd wife was Permelia "Ellen" Lyons.
Benjamin supposedly died in Texas around 1876. Benjamin has been my brick wall. Unable to locate any info on him. He was my grgrgrandfather.
Benjamin and Althy were married in Clark Co, Mo. He and Permelia were married in Putnam County, Mo. Not sure where he and Nellie were married.
