Hi,
I live in Austin, near Springdale Road and have often wondered if there had
been a community by that name. Can you tell me more about it, i.e.
location, size, etc? We had the same ritual when I was in school in
Austin and Manchaca in the 50's. The Manchaca school had only about 80
students in 7 grades. We had four teachers, one of whom only taught one
grade so she could be the principal. Her "office" was more like a closet
off the lunchroom! Was Springdale out towards Manor, Pflugerville, Dessau

TIP #173 - MILITARY AND CIVILIAN GOVERNMENT RECORDS
Where can I find military and civilian government employee records? The
following information has been gathered from several sources, including
various books, web sites and from references made by Daily News from
Ancestry. My thanks to everyone, unknown to me, who took the time to put

beware! DAR is basically requiring full re-documentation of lines with member

you would with LDS, but you should still continue to gather your documents

Hi everyone, my computer has been down for a few days and I could have
missed some email instructions about the school teachers, but I wanted to
relate a story told to me by a Rhea lady in Sneedville, TN (Hancock Co.).
She said in her husbands family(meaning earlier generation) there were many
sons. One was the sheriff, one was an outlaw, others were fine citizens,
and one was sickly with T.B. so he was the school teacher. The students
were very unruley and hard to handle so he came to school one day and
Hi,
"David D. Rhea (1811-1865) of Pocahontas Co., West Virginia, Lagrange Co.,
Indiana, Clinton Co., Iowa" by Charles J. Duesler. Although this thin book
is primarily about David Rhea's descendants it has some good material about
others of Bill and Betty's descendants.
The book was published by Mr. Duesler in 1991. At that time he was living
in Ames, IA. I believe he no longer lives there but I do not know his
present address.
Regards, Dick Fremon
I am also a descendant of Isaac Lollar of Rutherford Co., NC., but have
not connected this Levi Lollar to him as yet but am sure that there is a
connection.

I am very interested in this Moses Wray (d. 1802) also and think it
possible that he could be the father of my Ezekiel. However, you have
Ezekiel married to a Jerusha and I know the wife of my Ezekiel was
Elizabeth Pryor. I do not, of course, know whether he was married more
than once or not.
I do find an Ezekiel married to someone named Drucella. Do you think
this could be a mispelling for Jerusha? See the following record.

Thanks so much to all of you Rhea and Ray subscribers who gave me
so much help after I last posted a query to the two lists. With
more research, I believe I will find my Grandfather Morris, first
husband to Frances Proctor. I typed the following for a cousin
this morning, and will share some of the legends about Frances,
who lived to be over one-hundred-years old. There are other
interesting legends (or fabrications, as one chooses) about this
family. I'll share with anyone who's interested.
