There's at least one thing wrong with the info at this site. Teller was
definitely a slave of Sebird Smith Rhea until just before the Civil War
and perhaps she did marry Clem Johnson during or after the War but more
probably after the death of Sebird and his wife, Nancy, Rhea. She was
NOT, though, a child of Sebird and Nancy Rhea. I have seen this before
but it's not correct. Sebird and Nancy also had 2 other slaves whom they
freed just before the Civil War, 2 boys, probably teenage or early

Johnson Co., TN List of Voters in 1891
This is a list of the men of Johnson Co. who were over 21 years of age and
registered voters in 1891. The numbers next to their names are the Civil
Districts in which they lived. Those with an * beside their names were listed
as "colored". Unfortunately the majority were listed only by their initials
and the names in [ ] were added later . Also next to some names is the
Regiment in which they served in the Civil War. That information was taken
from the 1890 Speci
Dear Pat,
Back on 2-1-98 Doyle sent his RHEA list to your address, I tried to e-mail
him at the address dbaker53@gte.net but it was not accepted as a correct
address.
I would like very much to talk with him regarding the son of Robert Hugh Rhea,
William Barcley Rhea, b June 8th 1812.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks Milton Rhea (760)346-7323
Doyle shows William Barclay Rhea as the son of Robert Rhea and Martha Meek
and this is incorrect. As far as I have been able to determine, the William
Rhea son of Robert and Martha had no middle name. William son of Robert
married Elizabeth Boiler a sister to Robert's second wife, Catherine. William
(no middle name) moved on to Ohio where he raised his family and many
descendants are still located in Ohio. Connie Rhea Rowe

Hi,
On the Jackson Rootsweb, there was an inquiry concerning some Jacksons
marrying into the Rhea family.
She is Verta Rhea - married William Earl Jackson on Dec. 17, 1911 (s/o
Charles Whitfield Jackson + Mary Ann 'Polly' Rash = both born in Georgia
and died in Action, Texas).
Verta and William had 4 children = (1) Hazel Kindness Jackson, b. 1913
(2) Nellie Rhea Jackson, b. 1915 (3) Patty Corrine Jackson, b. 1920
and (4) Mary Josephine Jackson, b. 1923.
If anyone has any information on this Verta Rhea,
Pat

Va. I have the names of most of his descendants but I have not been able to
be really sure of his parents, but the age is right for him to be the child
of Luke Ray in Amherst Co. because In Luke's will he names Samuel H. Ray. On
his marriage record his name is Samuel H. P. Ray, I hope someone can help me
solve this puzzle. He is my great great grand
