Well we now have 125 on the list. We have really made some headway this year.
We have many fine researchers on this list, not just for the name Rhea, but
Wray, Rea, Rae, and Ray. I think we all compliment each other.
You all must be doing well on your research, because I have not heard much
from the list in the last month or so. A little here and there.
I have been very fortunate in the last couple of weeks, by finding my HARVEY
connection, that ties into the LAWRENCE branch, that married into my RHEA's.

All of the above lists now have archives available!!! The Maiser messages
have not been added yet, and since our lists were just added today, there are
no archived messages in most of them, but you can visit the site and get
familiar with how to use it. Go to:

I found this at the Ancestry Library. The Friends (Quakers) held their monthly
meetings at Hopewell, Virginia, during which they recorded the historical and
genealogical events of their fellow Friends in the area. This database
includes the names of the individuals, the date, the location, and if removed
from the society, the reason why.
There were three notations on the name RHEA- Does anybody have them in their
family. If so please let the list know.

One must be carefull following the assumption all 'Reas' related to Samuel
Rea.
This Samuel was the son of Matthew Campell Rhea II and Mary Lockart, grandson
of Matthew the Rebel.
Samuel's descendants
have been well researched and I have found very few 'Reas' can be connected to
this line.
Most of the 'Rea's' do not appear to be descendants of Matthew 'the Rebel'

They may be related to him in some other way but appear to have immigrated

Scotland rather than Northern Ireland. Here are th

I have received messages asking for help with Rheas, Reas, Rays, Wrays, etc
from people with very little to go on. I can make a few suggestions for
beginners. Ancestors, especially dead ones, become increasingly difficult
to identify over time, especially when you see that the use of middle names
was not common 150 years ago. The way we start to identify and hunt for
ancestors is to identify 3 important and unique events in their lives, ie,
when and where they were born, when and where and to whom they w
