They were traveling with adult children and their goal was Oregon. But they spent a bad winter in KS so some of the younger family members did go on to Oregon but James his wife and widowed daughter and her young family went first to Ben

To cerjr and anybody else who may be interested, The James Harvey Rhea who was born in Sangamon Co., IL in 1846 and married Elizabeth Amanda Boykin was my great grandfather. Age wise, those census records were only as good as the person who gave the info. Sometimes people were not at home, and the census taker guessed. ----- Original Message ----- From: RevDrBobBarnes Sent: Wednesday, December 04, 2002 8:52 AM To: RHEA-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [RHEA] Georgia Deaths- Redwine I believe this Hattie is my gr-grandmother. A Long Shot, but I wonder if there might be some connection. My John L Rhea b. 1868 was a railroad man as well. There were some connections with MO as one of his daughters lived there for some years. Your Charles would be in the general age range of his father who I have little informarion. What do you think? Pat this hold some hope as the Name Harriet is often mentioned in my antedotal references to anncestor but I have eliminated her as my Gr-Great grandmother who is Hattie Redwine/Rhea. It's possible, even likely that the are realted Rheas for whom myJohn L. Is named. In our family naming pattern sons are named after grandparents and aunts and uncles.
