I had a little trouble figuring out who the writer of this letter was.
Supposedly, Bird Smith Rhea married Anne Taylor. This letter says
Elizabeth.

The known history of the Rhea family in Greene County begins long ago in
Warren County, Tennessee. On the 19th of March 1830, Moses Rhea, father of
Obediah Rhea (later of Greene County, Arkansas) made his will.
In this will Moses Rhea mentions his wife, Hannah Ritter Rhea; his daug
Levi Perkins was my ancestor and his wife was Lucy Rhea. I much suspect
that you are correct in your thinking. William Pryor Rhea was a brother
to my Sebird Smith Rhea and both were sons of Ezekiel Rhea and Elizabeth
Pryor.
Sebird Smith Rhea also came to Mercer Co., MO., and died there as did
Reuben Perkins who married Sebird's daughter, Mariah Rhea.
Keep me informed of your progress.

Samuel Audley Rhea was a noted Presbyterian missionary to the peoples of
Persia and Kurdistan. His life and mission is extensively chronicled in the
book The Tennessean in Persia and Koordistan by Dwight Marsh published in
1869. One of his grandsons was Foster Rhea Dulles, a noted historian,

Dear Rea/Rhea/Ray researchers,
Please visit the WILLIAM C. RAY webpage:
http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/Bunker/6739/RAY/WmRayHome.html
This page contains information on the descendants of Wm.C. Ray who was
born Abt. 1800 in NC and moved to Elbert county, GA around 1827.
I'm almost convinced that this Wm. C. Ray is the son of James REA/RAY
(Jr.), who married Elizabeth DULA(DOOLEY) in Henry County, VA , and later
removed to Wilkes County, NC.

Hi, I read your post and the Name of Robert Ray caught my eye as that was my
Grandfathers name. Another thing stood out. The Company that this Robert Ray was
in was Wiley Company. My grandfathers middle name was Wiley. The third thing that
stood out was the mention of John Ray. My Great grandfather is said to be John
Rhea/Ray. Are these just coincidence or are they a hot trail to finding my Great
grand father John Rhea/Ray from Tn/Ky. My Grandfather was born around 1892, so his
father was born 1860-1870 and
I'm interested in Elizabeth Rhea, daughter of William Pryor Rhea, who
married John W. Lindsey. Do you have any additional information about her?
I believe she is the Elizabeth Jane Lindsey who married John Calvin

Rev. Levi Perkins. If so, she came to Mercer Co., MO by 1850 and died here
Mar 3, 1859. She named one of her sons William Pryor Rhea Lindsey.
Also, do you have any additional information on Eliza Rhea who married

In reference to the Aaron Rea mentioned below :
Rocky River Baptist Church, Warren County Tenn.
Annotated 1828 Membership List, Primitive Baptist Church.
Aaron Rea, dec'd.
Also listed is Abner and Alsy Rae.
So, we have Aaron REA listed in 1793 along with William Collings.
Aaron Rea listed in 1828 in same church with Abner Rea (Rae). Abner being
the son of William Collings Rea.
Sure would love to nail this relationship down.
