1. [RHEA-L] Greeneville (Tennessee) Rheas: More on Balch - Rhea connection [1]
This from the book "Rev. Hezekiah Balch, D.D. 1741 - 1810: A Biography" by Leah M. Brown (1988) on page 52: "The widow, Anne Luckey Balch, continued to live in their home until some time after the 1830 United States Census was taken. At that time she was tabulated with two females, one between 15 and 20 years of age, the other between 20 and 30 years of age. The latter was probably her bound servant, Dorcas Lewis, who would have been about 25 years of age in 1830. There were no males in the household wh
2. Re: [RHEA-L] Ray-Rhea Marriages of Blount Co. NC (don't miss this one) [1]
Pat: Worth S. Ray gathered a lot of information on the Ray/Rhea/Wray/Rae families. Unfortunately, some of it has proven to be incorrect, given the many years that have passed since he compiled TENNESSEE COUSINS, and the number of family researchers who have been sifting through the records for since the book was originally published in 1950. I wanted to fill in some of the blanks in your message and correct some of the misinformation, with regard to my own two Rhea lines: (1. Robert "Bobbie" Rhea, Jr.; a

Hi, Jan! Are you going to have to drive to Oklahoma to check this Ray story? There could be some new information there! Do you know anybody in Oklahoma who could read it and copy maybe? I'm curious as a cat, I guess. Let me know if you learn more. I had such a good time being with you last week. Staying out late didn't bother me at all. I just slept a little later the next morning. That was the first time I have been out after dark in YEARS. On Friday I went with Charlene shopping at Sam's and she g

Pat, It's a long shot, but it may be worth your effort to check further into the Cumberland Co., KY, records for your elusive THOMAS RHEA. His sister, ELIZABETH, who married her cousin, ROBERT RHEA, had an Adair County address in 1803, one year after it was organized from Green County (see Rockbridge Co., VA, Deed Book E, pages 227-29). Cumberland County, organized from Green Co. in 1799, borders Adair Co. Might THOMAS RAY be your THOMAS RHEA? The proximity of Cumberland Co. to Adair, Green, and Bar
