I would like to contact other researchers interested in Barton &
Polly ( ) RAY, md. ca 1808 in VA.
There is a Barton Ray in Botetourt Co. VA in 1810. They then moved
to KY (Montgomery Co. I believe, at least there is a Barton Ray there
in 1820). They then moved to IN (Jennings Co.? in 1840 there was a
Barton Ray there). Then on to Lee Co. IA where Barton died. In 1852
Polly and son William moved to Scotland Co. MO, then to Adair Co. MO.
In her obituary it says Polly and Barton had 4

Intro: to Ed Foley's pages of Descendants of Rev. Joseph Rhea of Ireland.
Rev. Joseph Rhea was the grandson of Matthew Campbell Rhea. His father being
Matthew also.
Matthew Campbell Rhea, rebel, was the son of Walter Campbell and Jean
Campbell. Jean was the daughter of Sir Niell Campbell, brother to the 9th
Earl of Argyll- Archibald.
Walter's lineage goes back to the Campbell's of Ardkinglas.
Walter was Laird of Skipness Castle, as were his ancestors before him.named
either Matthew or Walter.

I tell you the world is getting smaller and smaller.
I had seen the name of Dr. John Lockridge, associated with the Coyner family;
in some of the documentation from RPRhea. I wrote a note to bob walters, to
see if this man was related to Ann Rhea and John Lockridge.
From Robert Walters:
Dr. John Ewing Lockridge is indeed a descendant of John and Ann Rhea
Lockridge. They had a son John, who married Ann Elizabeth Ervine, who in turn
had John Ewing Lockridge as their son, b. Nov. 24 1830, died 13 Aug. 1910.
I got this address as a new subscriber to

Here is something I found a few years ago. I really like it, hope you like it
too.
I think It belongs in every genealogist notebook or posted right up there on
your bulletin board.
GENEALOGY is . . .
rewarding because it yields immediate results no
matter at what level you choose to become
involved, from the filling out of a simple family
pedigree chart to the writing of a family history.
It is guaranteed to draw you closer to your
relatives, give you a greater appreciation for the
history of America
That name is unfamiliar to me.
Our Rhea's were Campbell's in Scotland Argyll branch. but changed name in
Ireland to REAH. were Scot-Irish covenantor Presbyterian, before and after.
Hope you find your link. I am not sure that it will be from this list.

Hi Everybody,
I am still searching for my elusive REA ancestor. This is what I have on
her and I hope that someday she will tie in to all these wonderful family
lines I keep reading about.
Levicy REA, born May 25, 1793, married on May 10, 1810 in Culpepper Co., VA
to Jesse CALVERT (according to Ella Foy O'Gorman's "Descendants of the VA
Calverts" ). Levicy died July 18, 1840 and Jesse Calvert died August 4, 1860
in Daviess Co., KY. I am not sure where Levicy died at, either VA or KY.

I belong to the South-Central-Kentucky @rootsweb.com and if you have any
family in Barren, Green, Monroe, Metcalfe, etc. I strongly recommend it. I
have permission from Sandi to post any of her info .
The article I am going to post here will be cut down somewhat from the
article Sandi printed to the list. Evidentally the Genealogy Society in
Barren Co. sponsors a essay contest for 6th graders and this young man wrote
about Matthew HARBISON. I think this name is in our RHEA family. This young
man is obviou

Sure do, but I didn't post them because the surname wasn't REA. Maybe this
might help somebody else though. Most of this data had been handed down to me
from my great-aunt, who was Levicy's gr-gr-granddaughter. The genealogy bug
is strong in my family!

I was told a few days ago that there are alot of RHEA's in Jefferson Co. IN.
I tried to get some info from Jefferson Co. on the USGENWEB, but its an
orphan site.
Is anyone aware of the Rhea's there and would you submit some of the info on
the list.

Dick, This is part of what he said in the letter to my g.g.uncle James
Harvey Rhea
August 9, 1913
Dear Cousin, I will introduce myself by saying that I am a son of Thomas

June 3, 1780, in Greenbrier Co, Virginia and who died February 12, 1843 at
his home farm in Island Grove township, Sangamon County, two miles north west
of New Berlin. James, my great grandfather, and Thomas your grandfather, were
brothers.

Had a question about the wife of John RHEA, son of William. Actually I have
alot of questions. If anyone related to this man in particular?
Question on his second wife's name. It is reported in Robert Perry Rhea's
Bath Co. Bicentennial article, that her name was
Magdalane/Magdaline/Magdalene Dill, but in the marriage records it is spelled
STILL, October 18, 1800. Could be some of that old english.
But in the documentation that Robert Perry Rhea collected, Ref. #188

Hi,
Well tell you what, the only difference in Rev. Joseph Rhea and his ancestry,
is that his descendants can prove it, and we can't, but we're trying. Many
researchers believe that Archibald Rhea, father of William, Robert, and
Archibald; was the son of Matthew Campbell Reah.
Do you know the story about him? Is there anyone on the list that would like
to tell some of the story of Mathew Campbell.
And yes it is a possibility that your family comes from ours, as many went to
Tenn.
