1. [RHEA-L] Moses Rhea, bc 1769, Warren Co., TN. [1]
Is there anyone on this list who is researching the Moses Ray who died about 1830 in Warren Co., TN. His wife has been said to be Hannah Ritter. However, in some documents I found today, it gives her name as Ritter Hudson Ray. Could her name have Hannah Ritter Hudson before she married Moses Ray? -- Johnita P. Here is a nice note I received, outlining a line I have not previously had any data for. Thought others might also be interested. ED FOLEY Subj: Rhea Book Date: 6/19/00 10:37:36 PM Taipei Standard Time From: Cmds1467 To: EFoley1 Dear Edward, First, I would like to commend you for your extensive research on the various lines of the Rhea family. 5. Re: [RHEA-L] John Ray and Polly Bolon [1]
I have a little information about her. She apparently married Elijah Drake about 1808. Since the Drakes seem to be related to the John Rae/Ray/Rhea/Rea I am researching I suspect that this Pheobe is somehow related to him but more likely a granddaughter or something. Think she is too young to be a daughter and she wasn't mentioned amongst the aunts of Dicy (Ray) Perkins in the records that she gave to the Mormon Church for the baptisms for the dead. Now I do think that this John Ray/Rea/Rae/Rhea h

You don't need to look it up. I was hoping maybe that you just knew. I was trying to figure out whether it was close to some of the Rays/Rheas I thought my line might be related to. 7. [RHEA-L] What is in a name? [1]
As you and I have discussed before I have strong Native American ties on my Hendrix, Redwine, Rhea, and Barnes lines. I was seeking a name that fix as a special name. I was bouncing around Bird names as I love birds and Seabird popped in. I live near the coast and love seabirds, especially pelicans and gulls. Shortly there after a N/A elder confirmed this as my given or N/A name. Interstly after that I found that my Redwine G-grandmother was full blood Chicamaguan Cherokee, Bird clan. So I guess it all fit

Dissertations can be purchased quiet reasonably, some time they can checked out of the library of the university at which they were done. Abstracts can be obtained over the internet through local libraries. I purchased several for around ten-twelve dollars in the 1980's. Try UMIN COMPANY 300 North Zeeb Rd. I wanted her to go to the Rhea group if they had one but she didn't make it, I also was hoping she'd run into Johnnie Ray as I have recievd a family group sheet she has filled out on Frosts. I have been searching for more than 20 years for the parents of Pleasant Vincent Uriah (or Neri or Eli) Jackson Harrison Glenn Rhea born 1821, probably in Lincoln Co., TN, married Mary Elizabeth Fannin(g) 24 Nov. 1845, Flat Creek, Bedford Co., TN. He is probably not the son of John and Sally Rhea of Lincoln Co., TN. Their son Pleasant Vincent Rhea was born circa 1803, married Fannie B. White, moved to Washington Co., AR circa 1829 where he died circa 1864. So far I have not been able to identify parents for

Jonita, a bunch of us are working on a John and Febra Rhea in the Hancock Co. area, and the story goes that Febra was an Indian found in the woods, the Rheas raised her and John Rhea (a son) married her. WE ARE SO STUCK. In your email you said: It has been suggested in the past that perhaps the following people were also children of this John Rae/Ray, but I now find that doubtful. Joseph M. Yes, we're not sure whether it was a mispelling for Seibert or really intended to be Sebird. Sebird is what he seemed to use as well as the rest of the family. You say "Sebird" is Native American. Tell me more about that. I have wondered about the Native American aspect before as there are some indications of that. I'm feeling really brave today having just returned from the LDS Library and reviewing film 183,383, Mormon Records at Endowment House, Baptisms for the Dead (1877 Index of Heirs), pages 75, 76, and 97. I looked at the people that Dicy Ray Perkins, daughter of Aaron Ray and Nancy Howell, and her husband, William Gant Perkins, son of Ute Perkins and Sarah Gantt, baptisms and the relationships that they gave for these people. I previously had a not very easy to read copy of this info and mostly it was
